this was something new for me, I picked this book up during stuff your kindle day, because this book sounded so interesting and fun and the cover is very pretty. in the end this was not a book for me for multiple reasons but I do believe this is a very solid debut novel that is interesting for other readers.

lets start with what I liked 

things I did not like:

but I would recommend this to reader who love a court of thorns and roses + the serpent and the wings of night + from blood of ash

and I wish that people will give this a try and find a new favorite book because I believe this book has that potential for others.

I think I rated it a 5 star when I first read it, but I did change that rating now. because I enjoyed it and it such a good book that is not only fantasy but also mysterious. but something felt missing this time something I can not quite catch. but sometimes reading is just a feeling. I did love to return to this world and I did not notice that this took place during winter (because there is snow in the book) but I am so happy and sad at the same time that this is over. I will continue the series maybe next month but we will see

I am really sad that I only rated it a 3 star. but I did not have the best time with it. I felt no connection with the book we have two different story lines what made it a bit confusion and they were two story I did not really care about. it felt like a filler book for the next series. and I do get why did book exist it sets up the next series but I felt so bored I would have loved to see this book as a novella or something 400 pages for nothing I really like was disappointing. I did fell exited to see our character again I do still love them.

this was an enjoyable read. 

i want to start off with that I love robin hobb writing style. the writing is so beautiful. and this book is really is focused on characters and not plot we follow Fitz thought different years of his life/childhood. the world is interesting, and after a slow 250+ pages it finally picked up in the end and I really enjoyed it. the audiobook did help me so much with continuing this book. I will see what the other books will be like before judgement. 

this book is so good. 

this was a reread for me but I learned so many more things than the first time reading it, so many things I did not remember anymore. the characters are so amazing the plot is good and sets up the next book perfectly. I also listened to the audiobook besides reading it and I need to say the audiobook is also really good, two more to go before the fifth book is out hopefully I can make it before that and otherwise I will read the fifth book in January of 2025

deleted next story found audible more worth my money 

this was almost a five star read for. so much I enjoyed it but in the end I ended up with a 4.75 star rating. 

lets start with if you like:

you should read this.

two sides to every murder keeps you guessing and holding your breath chapter after chapter. the book is building throughout the story and new information comes and you keep guessing who could be the killer. this time I was wrong multiple times. but that made it for me so fun that I could not predict the book from chapter one. the setting is good and the biggest part of the book is set at one setting. the woods was such a good setting and you wanted to continue the story after each chapters. the plot twist were also amazing and how the story wraps up is also enjoyable. the characters are fun they do make some stupid choices but who wouldn't in this type of situations. why I did not rate it a 5 star was for the last chapter in the book, I get that some readers enjoy them but for me it leaves the story open and gives me questions that stays unanswered. 

i had the best time with this book. I picked this up because it sounded so good and I have read an other book by this author. so my anticipation was hight but it was all met with his book and quickly became one of my favorites of this month. 

I really was absorbed with this book and the vibes

Margot discovers a journal in her school library. the journal is from archeologist Van Kaene in 1932 it contains writing about a quest to find the mythical Vase of Venus Aurelia. 

Margot enters the school trip to Pompeii. her goal discover the vase and the secret's with in them. 
she is shocked when her research take her to statue that looks exactly like Van but she can't give it a second thought because the statue comes to life.  Margot and Van join forces they embark on a thrilling quest to recover every fragment of the elusive vase. 


I adored this, I really like Margot as a main character she is very relatable and determined and in the search for her love intrest just like she has read about.  And than you have Van who is grumpy and does not want anything to do with Margot. the romance is so good between them and was perfectly paced.  but what the book did best was the vibes of the setting and it's plot. I loved that we had trials and mythology waved into it. it really is an adventure read and reminded me so much off Tomb Raider.  the ending has good twist that added something to the plot. and besides that the book is so funny at times I caught myself laughing out loud multiple times. if you love a thrilling adventure read that is also funny and relatable look no further. 

this book I still one of my favorite books of all time even on my fourth reread

this is the first book I have read by this author and it was so good and addictive it made me smile, tense and wanting more
