this book was an surprising five star read. I just devoured this book. and it gave me five stars feeling from the start. it took me a little bit longer to read but that made me enjoy it even more. this book is fantasy and we follow two female characters that have history with each other, but we see from the start that they feel something for each other. further that it being a fantasy book it has vampires and historical fiction. the vibes were amazing and it reminded me of the shadow hunters series.

this was a very cute romance read. I don't often read romance anymore not because I don't like it but I like to see romance more in fantasy books, in fantasy book something is going on around the Romance plot. but this was good have read the other books in the series so I kind of knew what to expect and this one did not disappoint, character wise this is the best book in the series. plot wise I don't think it's the best but also not the worse. overall this was a fun quick read and a good start for the month.

this was a good ending to a fun series.
at the start of this book I was not exited to pick this book up because I did not really enjoy book two and book three. but I have been surprised with this book. capturing the devil goes back to the story line of the first book stalking jack the ripper. and I like that the author did that. ending the book with what we have started. the characters are well done have nothing to say on them they are just perfect. the plot was alright better than book two and three. did I wished the ending would have went a little bit differently "yes" I do. but that is alright. but the one big downside for me is that this series is very slow paced. it takes me longer to read, and I felt like some scenes and dialogue are repetitive. but overall a very enjoyable series to read.

this was so much better than book one. but it is also so much more longer than book one. it did scared me a bit when I saw that. so I am really happy that I make the decision to read this book as an audiobook and I really love the audiobook. the narrator is really good and makes me so much more interesting in this book that If I would read it myself.

this time the plot was more fast paced a little les boring
the world building and magic system was so much more interesting and exiting in this book. it also was easier to follow this time around. I also love the character building of Fitz and seeing him grow form reaction ships. I am now exited to continue the series next month!

look I liked this book but I felt also very disappointed with it. I love books where teens goes to work with the fbi but this FBI are really stupid and our character are a little bit empty and I don't like Simon as a characters he is just annoying and not scary. I wished the plot would have taken a different turn but the last 100 pages were crazy but I did predict them.

actually this was such a good novella, I read the bone season and enjoyed it but had some issues and questions so I wanted to pick up this book before I was going to read the second one. and wow I liked this more than book one by itself. it's fast paced, we get so much more back story of the story before the the bone season. I love the characters so much, this gave me found family vibes and I got shadow hunters vibes from it. even for a novella it had such a good plot. I now understand more of the world building and made me really exited for the next book.

i stand by my first review of this book. I started this as an ebook and finished it as an audiobook because I could not physical read this book. I found myself to be so distracted if I read it with my eyeballs. the first 10 chapters is basically dumping how this world works. and after that the plot finally picks up. characters are flat and has no real personality, and for a reason Oro I read as oreo and I thought he was an old guy. don't now why but those vibes I got. also our main characters was so empty as character. and like I said I could not connect with the writing style. I will pick book two up but only as an audiobook

this was such a good fun mystery. made me want one of my own.

this is such a quick and easy read, the characters are fun and I love when they try to solve active cases even when they are not allowed to. both characters had a lot of trauma in their past and I would love to see their past back in the second book. it is also set in 1982 that is a little bit different from the books I normal read. the ending was fun and spooky and I really want to continue with this series.

if you love
  • a good girls guide to murder
  • the naturals
then you should read this book

beneath the cursed stars is the spin off series of these hollow vows. this book is set in the same world and has the same characters in them. so I would recommend to read these hollow vows first.

this was such a fun unexpected book and I liked this more than the original series. I liked that we had dual POV's and that each MC had is own mission but all was connected to each other. love the characters Felicity who is a shape shifter and we follow Jasalyn and she has a tragic past and a lot of trauma. felicity is pretending to be Jasalyn on her mission but everything will not be easy as they thought it would be. both character have a romance subplot and a very slowborn romance. I love both love interest a lot. the plot it self was really interesting and surprising and the end got me. and I am exited to read the second book in the series.

if you love:
- slow burn romance
- secret identities
- betrayal
- found family

then you should read this book

"You're not fine. but you're not broken either." "fear isn't a measure of cowardice, and pain isn't a measure of weakness. you are brave and strong and anything but broken."

I'll never give up on someone I love for what others claim in fare. no matter how bleak it all looks, there's a path in your stars worth fighting for. " and what if you find yourself living beneath nothing but cursed stars?"

" then you go find yourself a world with a whole new night sky." " and some friends who will show you how to get there."

3.5/5 star rating

this is a novella in the stormlight archive series. and it's a must read before you read oathbringer. so you should read this after words of radiance and before oathbringer. we follow a character named lift  who has made a brief experience in the last book and will be a more important in the next book. so we see how the story starts for the character. I loved the duo Lift and Wyndel it reminded me of mist born saga 1. we still had some world building but not to heavy. the only things that I hard a hard time with is that lift is very young so she reads young. but that made it sometimes annoying but I feel like that is just a me issues because I knew that before I went into the book.

but can't rate novella really high only if I like it for 100% and this was a fun time but not a 100% feeling. but now I can continue with oathbringer
