A solid continuation of the trilogy.
I did find it a little short, but it is action packed.
The additions to the cast added to the story and I liked the twists and turns.
I did feel there were massive shades of throne of glass in this book, but there’s also enough difference that you don’t mind.
I’m intrigued to see where this all ends.

Absolute love!
I loved the premise of this story, I loved the twist on the fairytale, I loved everything.
I loved the cast of characters. I loved the twists and the action. I did think some things happened a little too easily, but it wasn’t anything that detracted.
Can’t wait for the second book!

This was an okay book, but not what I was expecting.
I was expecting this to be more Sox of crows-ish, and it was, but a sci fi version, I guess. And I don’t really enjoy sci fi.
The Edem thing was a little weird, as well as inconsistent, as well as impractical.
I also thought that there weren’t a lot of details given, which is usually okay for me, but for this, the vagueness was bordering on too much.
The cast of characters were okay, Jey was the highlight, but this isn’t a series I’m interested in following.

This was not a great book.
It’s not a sophisticated fantasy at all, everything happens so easily. The world building is fairly simple too.
I don’t understand Brie’s relationship with Sebastian and the selection part of the book seems nothing but a cheap attempt to copy the other series while not making it look like it’s copying the other series.
All in all, not a great book.

This is what happens when I don’t read the blurb.
I thought this book was going to be an epic vampire book, with the vampires being vampires in a way only Jay can write.
I did not expect what it was, which was sad and a lot but melancholy.
There wasn’t one particular character I liked, or anything that made me chuckle or had me hanging onto every word. In fact, I nearly DNFed this book a whole heap of times.
Such a disappointment for me.

Solid story. Was a bit predictable in parts, but had enough twists to keep it interesting.
I do think more work was needed with the start, and explaining the layout of the world, how it worked, the importance of the bridge, how that worked. I was, and still am a bit confused about it all.
I also think it was super predictable how her father had lied to her, and went in a bit longer than it should.
Still, it’s an interesting, captivating story with a decent slow-burn romance.
Will continue.

Whoa. This book…
That ending…
We did ask for it… but I’m not sure how I feel about it…
I loved the cast of characters in this book. I loved the new additions and getting to know the existing ones better.
Ruhn is everything in this book.
I do wish they’d let Danika Rest In Peace though, and wonder just how well exactly Bryce knew her…
But there is a lot going on in this book, some of which doesn’t feel fully fleshed out, Cormac especially.
But it was a fascinating read, and that ending, it definitely knocks your socks off.

DID NOT FINISH

DNF at chapter 2.

Story didn’t pull me, and I couldn’t concentrate on it.
The changes in story and narrator in the same chapter annoyed me.

Wow.
I loved this book. I loved Jo, I loved the relationships, I loved the women and their strength and their hope.
I loved the twists and turns, and my heart wrenched at the truths held within.
This is just an amazing book, an amazing story.

3.5 stars.

This was an okay book.
I liked Pipper’s transformation, as well as Brendan’s.
I liked the town and the characters in it.
But I don’t know, I kind of wanted more. I’m not sure what it is I want, but I need something of a little more substance
Still, an okay, mindless, effortless read.
