I initially DNFed this book after 58 pages but decided to push on.
I’m not sure if that was a good decision or not.
Will was a great character. I liked his group of friends and I liked seeing his feelings progress.
But I did
Not like Hanna. She was really unlikable to me and the reason I DNFed in the first place. For someone who is really intelligent, she is really quite dumb and I couldn’t handle it.

The language in this is pretty hard to read easily, and the story just hasn’t grabbed me.

An okay book.
I liked Gavin. I liked the book club.
I wasn’t great with Thea or Liv.
It was a solid story but it just didn’t blow me away.
A great, quick, easy, mindless read but nothing great.

4.5 stars.
I liked this book. It was a solid addition to the series, but I felt like something was missing in this book. It didn’t wow me like Neon Gods did.
I liked Psyche and Eros, liked their relationship.
I liked the diversity in this book and liked getting more insight into Demeter as well.
But I just can’t put my finger on what was missing.

I loved this book! It was a little more YA than I thought it was going to be, but I think it’s because I’ve been reading more adult-y Asian themed fantasies this month.
I absolutely loved Linxi, Tang Wei, and Shun. They’re incredible. Tang Wei had so many great lines that you can’t help but love her. I also loved the diverse relationships featured in the book.
Having said all this, I did find the pacing a little bit weird. Because you need a firm foundation there’s a lot that needs to be built first. So in that vein, Altan and Anh don’t really get together until halfway through the book. You don’t entirely mind though.
I did find that some of the book was rushed, especially the end.
That was the I to draw back though. I loved the twists and turns and I can’t wait for the second book!

This was an intriguing book.
I liked the multiple storylines and how they were interwoven and how they dove together.
However, I felt the chapters were too short and weren’t given enough time to breathe and develop. Either a lot happens in the chapter, or nothing does.
I feel like this complicated a book needs so much more time.
But, having said that, I did like the girls and their betrotheds. The amount of intrigue and twists was great, and I’m looking forward to the next book.

I just couldn’t get into this book.
Vanja is unlikable and not even in a morally grey kind of way, just really unpleasant.

Everything. Just everything.
This book felt like there was no thought out into it.
Hollis was annoying, and Nora and Delia Grace’s characters flipped and flopped.
I also felt the story started in the middle, I needed to know more about Jamieson and why he went for Hollis. I also needed to know more about the geo-political tensions.
I am so disappointed in this book. I loved the selection and this was such a let down.
