I wasn't sure how I would go this one because its been ages since I've read any PNR books. I actually quite enjoyed this and am interested to see how things go with the rest of the series. Genesis and Ethan have an interesting story full of mystery and challenge. There are quite a few things to learn about this world, and I think much of that will also carry into the following book/s.

This one kept me interested, and I liked the main characters and their friend. Would recommend.

This was my first book by this author, on recommendation from someone else. I enjoyed the mystery behind this, although it probably took me more than half of the book before I truly got into it without easily getting distracted. There are many different characters and things happening, and I think it took me a bit to get my head around it all. This might be because I haven't read any previous books in the series, I'm not sure.

The serious issues in this one took a big turn and I wasn't expecting the culprit to be who it ended up being. Many moving parts in this storyline and some emotional sections that just make you realise how disgusting and sick some people truly can be. Whilst it's fiction, it's crime fiction, and these things happen in the real world too unfortunately. I liked Lottie and her bulldog style of detective work, and I definitely would read more from this series.

This one was a little slow for me. We know from the beginning who the culprit is, and pretty much can figure out why they're doing what they're doing. A couple of little nuances I didn't work out until things progressed, but for the most part we're seeing the police side versus the culprits side until they come together. The thing with this storyline in the book is that we see Kate's team working together and we learn more about them. I quite like Emma and Morgan, still unsure about Jamie.

The second storyline that runs through this has been going since the first book, and we're getting closer (I think) to the conclusion of that. The ending left us with a big cliffhanger for this part though, so I'm curious to see what happens in the next book.

Not my favourite in this series, but still a good read, and I will continue this series.

Robert Bryndza always manages to take the most complicated storylines and weave them together in a way that makes sense, and keeps you guessing. This one started off a little slow for me, and I was wondering what was going to happen to speed things along, but once all the pieces started coming together, man, did it all happen.

Kate and Tristan's case was a tough one - this one involves a child - and all the little parts of this case that came together for the conclusion made it one hell of a ride. I wasn't expecting it to play out how it did. I will admit that at the beginning I thought it was the culprit who it turned out to be, but it seemed to easy, or too obvious, or, I don't know, just something that couldn't possibly be the answer.

In the end, the way this tale is woven together, brings out a solution that can go many ways. It's kind of a bittersweet one. Another well written story from this author, and I always look forward to more. Would recommend.

This was another gripping story from Robert Bryndza. The case leads Kate and Tristan down many different paths, but in the end it all comes together so well. I had figured out who I thought it was, and then the story took some turns and in the end, well, I didn't see that coming.

I enjoy being along for the ride and playing detective with Kate and Tristan, and getting both of their POV's as the story and case unfolds. Enjoyed this one and looking forward to more.

This was an enjoyable read. I liked Silas, and once I got used to, and knew more about Felicity, I liked her too. An interesting small town dynamic and story about the past and ones consequences from their actions. And then about moving forward from this. Also a good lead in to what will be the next book.

I always enjoy Robert Bryndza books and this one was no different. I love this series and it was great to get a chance to catch up and read this latest instalment. I like Erika and the team, and the mystery in this one kept leading me different ways and in the end the killer was not who I expected it to be.

Would recommend and looking forward to more.

This one just isn't for me. It sounds really good, and I've heard alot of good things about this author, I just can't find myself getting into it. Feels a bit all over the shop and like its not explaining much. Maybe its me, and the fact I don't read a lot of books like this. It's not my thing anymore I don't think. But I'm sure it will be for others as I know this is a popular author.

The writing style seems ok in this book but I just can't find myself getting into it. It's hard to follow the who's who and what's going on properly when it keeps jumping around and some characters seem flighty. I'm sure plenty will love this, as its a great synopsis and this writing style is fine for others. It's unfortunately just not for me.

AUDIO REVIEW

This was an interesting enough story but I didn't really connect with our main characters. The one character I did like the most was Rafe. Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong this book, but I don't listen to a huge amount of audio, and I just didn't connect with these characters the way I have in some other audio books by these narrators and this author. Mysteries and realities and personal growth, its all in there. And the ending was really nice. But this one was just an ok one for me.
