The writing in this is amazing, wonderfully witty and charming. That being said, as fabulous as Nora Ephron's characters and writing is, the iconic performances of Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal in the film are a big part of what makes  'When Harry Met Sally' a god-tier romantic comedy. 4.5 for the script and 5 stars for the movie

Lyrical piece about (a basically married) Joyce having the hots for one of his young students in Trieste–a bit icky, but we'd expect nothing less. 

This was not intended for publication, but saved by his brother Stan and published post humously. 

Beautifully written like all of Joyce. 

The imagery is stunning. As ever, Dublin somehow manages to be a leading character with Nora Barnacle lingering in the background too. 

A brilliant biography on The Kennedy Women, delving into the lives of Rose, Jackie, Ethel, Eunice, Jean, Pat, Kick, and Rosemary.

I particularly liked the focus on the family’s role in global events and their lasting impact, always centering the perspective of the women in the family.

The author, Leamer, covers nearly a century of The Kennedy Women's story. While the book includes some tragic and dark elements, it also contains humour and engaging anecdotes, creating a well-rounded and vivid portrayal of such an iconic and recognisable political family. 

The writing was excellent, with rich details that showed thorough research. The narrative had a warmth that I feel is often missing in biographies, which I appreciated as someone who has probably read more fiction than non-fiction in the past. 

Although I came into this book already knowing quite a bit, I still learned loads.

This was really well articulated, informative and interesting. I think I understand the concept of camp, pop culture and the difference between high and low culture a lot better now. Really, its all just bollocks and people should be allowed to like what they like. 

I wasn't familiar with quite a few of Sontag's examples when she was describing different manifestations of 'camp' in popular culture. However, I did have a lot of fun coming up with modern day equivalents. I'm not sure I agree with the take that any type of art [camp] or otherwise can be considered entirely apolitical tho so there's that
