Year of the Monkey was such an interesting blend of dreams and reality, contrasting the beauty of imagination with the harshness and confusion of our current world. Parts of it have a 'Patti in Wonderland' sort of vibe that is then juxtaposed with reality, with musing on the 2016 US presidential election and the many losses Patti has endured in her life. I loved this, but then again I usually love everything Patti Smith writes. 

I love that Austen wrote a novel with an older sassier protagonist! Although, I do think this one lacks the depth of her later novels :)

Damn, Knightley...out there raising our standards!! 

After having read four others, this is my favourite Austen. I loved the humor, the insanely dramatic characters, the comedy of miscommunication and errors. And the ending! Damn! Be still my hopeless romantic heart

This reads like an epic poem and is utterly jam packed with absolutely beautiful imagery and lyrical language. 

Patti Smith has such a remarkable way with words and The Coral Sea is such an eloquent and emotional poetic tribute to her friend Robert Mapplethorpe. 

Would definitely recommend reading to anyone who has finished (and loved!) Just Kids. 

Studied these poems in school. Absolutely slaps!
