Year of the Monkey was such an interesting blend of dreams and reality, contrasting the beauty of imagination with the harshness and confusion of our current world. Parts of it have a 'Patti in Wonderland' sort of vibe that is then juxtaposed with reality, with musing on the 2016 US presidential election and the many losses Patti has endured in her life. I loved this, but then again I usually love everything Patti Smith writes.
