As much as I loved the main character for most of the book, all of her best qualities melted away the moment she got some dick. Sorry chat. ☹️

Also an ABSURD amount of typos. A truly mind-boggling amount. Like it was a great book and then BOOM new typo every ten chapters or so.

I HAVE SO MANY CONFLICTING FEELINGS 😫😫😫😫

On one hand, I adored this book. It was different to anything else Emily Henry has written before, with traces of her usual charm thrown in. Margaret’s story was engaging, the setting was perfect. I could taste, feel, and smell each and every detail described as if I was right there with the characters.

However there is ONE plot point that just sticks out like a sore thumb, that makes me so ANGRY that I cannot rate this any higher than maybe 3.5 stars.

Focused a tad too much on narrating in a cool way. Might come back to it later, but I've said that before and. . .did not do that. Everything about this book felt deeply hollow and maybe even a little forced.

But I might also just be in a slump #allIwanttodoisplaybg3

I read this as a part of my book club assignment for my AP Lang class.

This book was very good. I especially enjoyed the narration, it was remarkably done. The language was easy to read and understand, which I was afraid it wouldn't be. Might check out more by this author.

Was not going to finish this before it was due. Also just wasn’t loving it, unfortunately. Maybe another time, idk

Lowkey have no idea what happened. The illustrations included were absolutely gorgeous, however.

I started it, was not feeling it. This is why I wait until I'm a few chapters in to mark something a currently reading.

4.75 for now because I get weird about giving books five stars. I think it’s an ocd thing, but who knows.
Anyway, this book was perfect. I never wanted it to end, and I immediately want to read it again.

ALSO: Ali Hazelwood always awakens the deeply buried longing that I have for academia. I read through the horrifically awful bull suit and I think “This is the life…”
