Mmmmmmmnnnnn, I really wanted to love this.

It started off very strong, I was super excited to see where the story and their relationship went. But, as I read on, it became more and more repetitive. Random plot points were thrown in to create “invisible string moments” that never actually held any weight. All of the friend characters felt like devices to help push the two main characters together, which is fine. But they were all cardboard.

Towards the end it felt like I was watching a young girl throw rocks at her wild stallion, telling him to leave and go be free.

I’m too much of a wreck to give this a real rating

Perfection. So close to my heart in so many ways, that I wonder if Ali Hazelwood has kept a secret camera on me.

I am a swimmer. Not nearly as good as anyone in this book, but god dammit I screamed when she announced this book because MY SPORT!!! My team only has two divers on it and they actually are so amazing. Love divers and all that they do.

Meh. Would’ve been better as a full book, but what do I know

An absolute doozy. Never knew what wild, bullshit thing was going to happen next and it was all so perfect.

Really cute. Not as hard-hitting as the first two, but I appreciated getting so much Wendell x Emily

Ship of Magic

Could not stand the characters. Plot was slow moving, which I didn’t mind in the Farseer trilogy, but despised with this. Felt very ya, but maybe that was because of how comically evil Kyle was, or how petulant Althea was. Gonna give book 2 a try, but if I hate that too I’m just jumping right to Tawny Man tril.

Had to read this for my AP Lang class, and I'm very glad I did. This book was remarkable, and got me thinking about topics that I had not given much deep thought before. Also, people in my class who hate reading loved this book, so that's a win. Hard to rate, because it was five stars, but I feel weird giving it a star rating.

This series is positively addictive. I adore Wendell and Emily, and I love every character introduced—especially darling little Poe and the other critters introduced in this book. I can’t wait to continue to the next one!!

So, I picked this up on a whim after a college tour this past Friday. I thought I had heard of it before, but after scrounging all the YouTube videos that I could have heard of it from, I found nothing?? My brain literally just dropped this in my lap, and it was so perfect.

Lucie’s relationships with each character in this book was just so pure and full of the most genuine care and love I can imagine. And Aiden was cool too, idk. He felt a bit generic but in a unique way; like Tate McRae.

I now feel like I need to watch Sleepless In Seattle.
