The base concept for this novel was good, it had potential, but I found the execution to be extremely lacking. Readers never get the chance to care about Reeve and Mari's relationship before she is out of the picture so I wasn't particularly invested in the story. And the severe grammatical errors kept me from enjoying the read. I don't care about forgetting a comma here and there but every other page had a missing period at the end of a sentence. I also didn't find any of the characters interesting. They lacked depth and all spoke the same. There was no difference in the way the characters acted, it all felt very rigid and dull.
This book was so freaking good! I was sucked into the story and was invested in each plot line. I’m not big on multi-pov books but this one does it well.
I am disgusted. The detail of the horrors committed against the mc was unnecessary and nauseating. There should have been trigger warnings in a prominent place because there were more triggering things than plot. And speaking of plot, where was it? Everything that happened was purely Tallora getting treated like an object for 300 pages. I wish I could purge this book from my mind.
Almost makes me want to spend money on more of her books (I got free novellas in newsletter)...almost.
In comparison to the last book I read by this author, this book is pretty good. It lacks any character development or emotional appeal but it's not a horrible book.
A fast paced and enjoyable book. The characters were interesting and the plot was for the most part unpredictable.
I enjoyed the friendships but otherwise it was a pretty average book. I’ll likely forget about it in a week.
