“If I'm yours and you're mine...then I will take you, wherever and whenever I can.”

First Impressions
Thoughtless is the first book in the "Thoughtless" series by S.C. Stephens and this series and really this book has been on my wishlist for the longest time. I constantly see it all over the top romance book lists and I finally had to pick it up to figure out the "why" and what makes this book such a big hit for readers especially when it involves a love triangle and other difficult aspects that just come with a love triangle. Thoughtless completely blew me away....not only out of this world but in the whole universe. I still can't believe what was contained in this book here and I am still trying to process it all. (I would recommend reading this book with the Male POV portion of the series with "Thoughtful" It does take longer to read as they are both over 500 pages but you will get so much more out of it if you see Kellan's point of view, in fact I would say its necessary)

First Line
It was the longest drive I had ever been on.

The Main Protagonists
The Hero: Kellan Kyle
The Hero: Denny
The Heroine: Kiera

Summary
Kiera and Denny have been together for a couple of years now. But now they head across the country to have a new start in the west coast. Kiera is transferring to a different college, and Denny best friend, has invited them to be his roommates in his home and so they stay with a local rock star "Kellan Kyle". Kellan is moody, sarcastic and a bit of a jerk at times....but also has a tortured soul and learning at a very young age that no one will care about it or ever put him first. When Denny has to temporarily move away for a job offer, Kellan is a good friend to Kiera but both of them know only friendship can happen. But something changes for them on the night that Kiera thought her relationship with Denny was over....and even though her relationship with Denny hadn't been over....she now has torn feelings for Kellan....feelings she shouldn't be having or feeling a connection to Kellan she has never experienced with Denny. And now she can't keep putting her decision off....she will have to choose between the man who is her comfort and ease or the man who sets her world on fire...

“I want to be someone's everything. I want fire and passion, and love that's returned, equally. I want to be someone's heart.”

What I Loved
Thoughtless was a book that shred me to pieces from beginning to end. This book is done in the heroine's POV only so keep that in mind. This is only half the story that we see told (You do want to read Kellan's POV to get the full complete story--which I will have a review up for very soon here). Thoughtless is exactly what the title portrays it to be. Now I know some readers struggled with Kiera, but honestly she wasn't horrible. Now she wasn't the perfect heroine at all, she definitely had SO many growing pains to truly go through. But we see her growth and journey throughout this book. We see her realize the consequences of her actions and inaction as well. That everything we do does have a consequence and it can either be a positive or negative result. We see the heart wrenching moments that do exist in a love triangle. We see Kiera having to make a difficult choice between 2 very good men! I felt for her in this choice because both Denny and Kellan have good souls and are stuck in a bad situation. Now Denny I felt the most for at times to be honest. He is a bit clueless at times though. There is some angst in this book though and it might not be for everyone. And boy does it get super wild in this book but I sometimes just had to laugh through the craziness. The relationship that we see develop between Kiera and Kellan was so heartwrenching though. You see how drawn Kiera is to Kellan but also knowing how wrong it is. But they have such a intense connection. Her relationship with Kellan isn't easy....its full of hot messes at times but its also one that makes you want to soar in the clouds with them. The ending and how it all gets resolved in the end was actually quite perfect and I can't wait to see their journey in the upcoming books.

“What if I don’t choose you, Kellan? What will you do?”
He looked away, a tear rolling down his cheek. “I’ll leave, Kiera. I’ll leave, and you and Denny can have your happily ever after.” He looked back at me. “You wouldn’t even need to tell him about me. Eventually, the two of you…” his voice broke and another tear fell on his cheek, “the two of you would get married, and have children, and have a great life.”
I fought back a sob. “And you? What happens to you in that scenario?”
“I…get by. And I miss you, every day,” he whispered.

What I Struggled With
The heroine was hard to like at times, but I understood her and where she was coming from. She is naive at times and a bit thoughtless towards others but its not her being cruel on purpose.....its more out of uncertainty and fear more than anything else. And while I wouldn't do what she does in this book, I can see it for what it is. A very complicated situation that most her age don't have to face.

Narration
Truly wonderful!!! I wish my library had these narrations because they are pricey but I am so glad I did some of it in audio, I did end up finishing it in ebook.

Overall View
Thoughtless is a angsty romance that digs deep into the heart and how life makes you choose between two good choices and that pain can turn into something so joyfully sweet and tender when its right.

I gently grabbed his face with my hands. "Don't leave me. You are mine...and I'm yours. I want you...and you can have me.”

Steam/Spice Explanations

Simmering cup of tea---soft warm touches and light intimacy
Warmin' by the fire- a medium level of sexual tension, a balance of sexual and emotional intimacy, lighter on the details in the sexual moments.
Steamin' up the room -the sexual content is more explicit in the language and tone, heavier amount of sexual scenes.
Blazing fire to the building-The prime focus is the sex scenes, scorching hot, and could burn one. Less focus on the emotional intimacy to the relationship.

 My Review:

Hearts Untamed is the novella of the series, this is where we get a story about a couple who are both therials. They are connected to the rest of the characters within the Feral Warriors series. I loved seeing the connection to Hawke and Jaguar though. This was a very heartbreaking at times and I really liked the setup of this story. Its mutual pining in many ways. The hero left our heroine when they were teenagers because their friendship was turning into something more romantic and sexual and in their culture it was forbidden for them to be intimate until they were 25 years old. But now Zee is back and Julianne is having to keep a secret from Zee, because his life is in danger. I really enjoyed the element of danger that is in the series and with this one being a novella, the secret isn't dragged out and it comes out pretty quickly. I loved how Zee just wanted to get to the truth and reconnect with Julianne and stood up to her so well. She really needed that because she is living in such fear and needs a strong man to really get her to reveal the truth. And Zee knows her despite the time that has gone by that they haven't been together.

Overall I had a good time with this one and eager to get to more of this series.

 My Review:

Cherished was the next novella in the series that I needed to read so I can get to the next full length novel. These novellas are either a hit or a miss and unfortunately this one was a huge miss. I am not sure exactly what it was or if it was just a combination of different things but it just didn't work for me all that much. First off does EVERY heroine in this series have to be curvy? lol its kinda getting annoying honestly. Especially since the covers don't showcase this at all. So to me they are fit and healthy. And another issue I am having is so many heroines having the WORST self esteem. Its starting to just rub me the wrong way. Don't get me wrong I adore these books and will continue to read them because they are like the best catnip however, can we not have healthy heroines inside and out? It just seems like we are only getting one type of heroine in this series. Hopefully the heroines will get a bit better or I probably just need to ignore the things that drive me nuts. And the angsty moments between these two was just super annoying. I just didn't feel their connection in any way and was hoping for more. I know its a novella so it can be hard sometimes but probably my least favorite of the series so far.

First Impressions
One Tiny Lie was a story that I immediately jumped into because this author always seems to work for me just right. I would say that this is a book to read reviews and the blurb on because I think going in blind like I did isn't always the best course of action. I think some of it was I didn't know I was getting into a drama of a love triangle. And so there are certain aspects that just come with that and that includes elements of cheating both emotional and some physical. Also if you don't know you the main characters are you might end up fighting for the wrong man like I did lol but I did stick with it because it was compelling and the ending was pure magic and made the struggles with most of the story worth it!

First Line
"Livie, I think you're completely f****ed up,"

The Main Protagonists
The Hero: Ashton
The Heroine: Olivia

Summary
Livie has always been the good daughter and sister. When her parents were killed she tried to live up their expectations for her. While her sister spiraled out of control, Livie has always tried to do the right thing and not stray from the good path. But now she is entering college, her sister manipulated her into seeing a therapist thinking some hidden monster was lurking inside her and even though she feels a connection to Ashton after a drunken night and sharing some tattoos, she starts dating his best friend, Conor. Conor is easy and kind. He is patient with her and not rushing her into anything but the man she really wants is a manwhore and is always pushing her away. But sometimes love gets in the way of best laid out plans....

What I Loved
What I loved was quite a few things. First I want to say I really loved the heroine for most of the story. I loved her softer quiet personality, her strong and steady path and wanting to be the "good girl". I actually didn't like her sister not accepting her more just because she was different and didn't want to be the party girl like their group was pushing her to be more. I did love Ashton and Livie's relationship with each other especially in the second half. And the ending for this book is what really made this book click. There are secrets that are being kept within this story and you really start to see aspects of those within this story. I loved how we see the elements of what is happening with him and why he has been pushing her away so often. Poor Ashton. My goodness. My heart wept for this man who has so many hidden layers. And when its all revealed, this is where the swoons really enter into the story so perfectly and overrides my issues with the story enough to make me really enjoy it. I do wish the ending had been a bit more dragged out so we could have seen a bit more couple time with Livie and Ashton because once everything is out in the open, their relationship clicks just right and I wanted to see more "couple moments" after this reveal.

What I Struggled With
The love triangle. There is cheating both emotional and physical and I just think the way it all played out in the third act could have been better. What I didn't like was Livie cheating on Conor when he is in the same house, when she actually could have ended it with him and chose not to because apparently she didn't want his parents to think bad of her. I actually felt for Conor in this because he is a good guy that didn't deserve to be cheated on like that and how it came out was so not good. And the hero isn't the easiest to like, he is a bit of a manwhore and a jerk to Livie at times which I wasn't a fan of. And honestly if you are going into this blind ....you are going to want her with Conor a bit more for most of the story lol I just wished we had seen more relationship building happening with Ashton in the first half of the story to make it make more sense on why she is with him over Conor.

Narration
Wonderful!!!! I highly recommend this series in audio. I actually wanted to stick with the audio more than physically reading it and I don't regret it at all. And the narrator is a bit slower so you can easily speed it up which is nice without it taking away from the moment of having a story narrated to you.

First Impressions
Wilde Abandon is the third installment in the "Dark Horse Dive Bar" series and I actually surprisingly had this on my kindle since it came out last year but for some reason I totally forgot about this book and I am not sure why considering this author has been such a favorite of mine for many years. Wilde Abandon is a story of childhood sweethearts, second chances and a deep aching love and such sweet pining that make your toes curl. Its a story of hurts and friendship and rising above your lows to fight for what matters most in life...

First Line
Fox Bridges waited by the tree he and Melody met at each morning after they were dropped at school.

The Main Protagonists
The Hero: Fox Bridges
The Heroine: Melody Wilde

Summary
Fox and Melody were childhood friends, but Fox was a boy that was being abused by his parents constantly and his only friend....Melody was his true light. She offered him kindness in a world of violence at home. But when he was dying, Melody saved his life but in doing so betrayed his trust and she lost the boy she loved for many years. Now they are both adults, and Fox has never forgotten Melody or their friendship and she always held his heart, as she saw the good in him before anyone ever did. But now he is in Wyoming and he is going to fight for her no matter what it takes.....

What I Loved
This book was beyond heart wrenching and it melted my heart from beginning to end. Fox and Melody's book was beyond precious. From the first chapter, these two had dug deep into my heart and I never wanted to let them go. If you love romance and suspense, then I can't recommend this one enough for you. There was something so deep that this story entrenches in you as the reader. You see their friendship and connection as children and then seeing them come back together in the end was poignant and heart stopping. Literally it felt like time stopped in this moment when they both know who the other is and make a choice to fight for one another no matter what. Their story isn't easy though. They have some hurdles that they have to battle. We have Melody who will have to learn to trust in Fox and fight for him in ways she didn't imagine. And then we have Fox who is burdened by the demons of his past, he has a hard time trusting and is being twisted by those he thought he could trust. The suspense side of the story was brilliant. The way its built within the plot was just right and very Jennifer Ryan style. It breaks my heart that Avon dropped her as one of their authors and she had to go indie with this one....but her writing has stayed the same and that makes my heart so glad. And isn't the cover so beautiful???? I love that she matched it with what Avon did in the first two books.

What I Struggled With
There wasn't much I struggled with to be honest, there is some inner angst at times, but it made sense with what was happening externally in the story.

 First Impressions
Wilde for You is the second book in the ‘Dive Horse Dive Bar’ and this book features the sibling “Jax Wilde”. After falling so hard for the first book, I was super excited for this one and couldn’t wait for it to be closer to the publishing date to read it, I just was itching to jump right into it and I have to tell you this author crafted a masterpiece! I loved every single moment of. There is something that is so much deeper to this series and I am all on board for seeing this author write some of her best stuff and having been reading her for hers, her writing has been slowly building into what we see her. The romantic suspense elements were a little bit lower than I normally have seen from her, but I was totally fine with that because the romantic elements themselves were *chef’s kiss* perfection and I honestly want to read it again it was so wonderful and captured my heart so quickly. This is a couple that quickly get on board with each other and don’t fight what they feel. Such a refreshing ideal in a romance, a couple not fighting each other or what they feel, but going all into a relationship.

Summary
Wilde for You is a setup of a story where our heroine, Layla Brock, who is a widow and a world talent of a artist. She is recovering from realizing her husband was not the man she thought he was and trying to move on to a new place. She comes to Wyoming for a fresh start and to find a new way to paint and bring a fresher perspective to her life. She then meets the Wilde family and is instantly drawn to Jax who builds her a beautiful studio and they quickly have a connection neither of them can deny. They both know that this is going fast, but that is worth fighting for. Layla is at first afraid to trust herself with Jax, as she got hurt trusting the wrong man. But Jax has a wild honesty that she is drawn to and only wants more of to be in his presence. And the way that he inspires her art emboldens her spirit in a way that she has never experienced. Jax and Layla will have to fight for their relationship in ways that they didn’t see but can they both jump into the cold water and take that leap of faith of trust in the quick love building between them….

What I Loved
There was so much to adore about this story. Lets talk first about our characters. So first off, we have Layla who is strong and a fighter. There is at first much mystery about her late husband so that really pulls you into that intrigue of wondering who was this man that burned her so badly. I really enjoyed Layla so much. She was a fighter. She fought for the relationship and for herself and what she deserved. She didn’t back down from what mattered to her and what believed in. She has such courage, and when you realize what she has been dealt, you even admire her more for taking a chance on Jax and going after that dream and having faith in a man after being betrayed in the way that she was. Then we have Jax Wilde, who is solid and true and good to the heart. He is a hardworking man, devoted to his family and building their family ranch into what it should be. He is dedicated to protecting those who need it and when he falls for Layla….he FIGHTS hard for her and their relationship. Seeing a man so devoted and dedicated to fighting for her. And when she fights for him but also SEES who he is—-its epic and beautiful in his reaction. The romance was beautiful in every single moment they were together. There were such moments within the story that will instantly capture you attention and have you as the reader living within that moment. There is also the manner in which these two take that leap of faith for each other. That deep devotion such delivers so much dimension to the story. Its a true masterpiece of heart and living your dreams and making the most of the cards that life deals you and leaping at all the good that comes your way. This story will forever hold my heart and soul in so many ways. Jax and Layla had such a beautiful story.

So next I want to talk about the triggering content within the story. I was nervous about this because the author does place a trigger warning page for both miscarriage and abortion and honestly I was scared of what this author would do because y’all know I can’t stand abortion in romance since I have yet to see an author really handle it well. I can tell you Jennifer Ryan handles these elements so brilliantly. You can tell that she was very careful with this and that wherever you side on the abortion matter, you will be okay with how this is handled, it’s done very well. I really appreciated the delicacy. More authors could learn from her example because its a very divisive topic in our society today and loved that Jennifer Ryan understood that and portrayed it so well within this story.

What I Struggled With
Nothing….wish it lasted longer haha I just didn’t want this story to end.

Overall View
Wilde For You is a poignant romance that will uplift your heart and dig deep onto the soul. Its a story of self growth, learning to fight for your happiness and embracing love when it comes your way. An artistry gem of a romance that strikes deep!

 My Review:

A View to a Thrill was the story that involves Chelsea and Simon. Simon was once a British agent but also has American roots and now works for the the Taggerts. Chelsea is a young woman who is emotionally lost. She is the daughter of a Russian Mob and was tortured and has a lame leg. She is prickly and on edge and doesn't know who to trust and has made some mistakes in her life. But Simon is a man that is willing to fight for her. When she finds a bomb on her porch and under her car, she comes to Simon for help, not wanting to drag all of Sanctum into her "drama". From the beginning she and Simon and with his partner Jesse, are on the run. There are multiple groups that are after them and they all know how important it is that they find out the source of the danger and eliminiate it. But there are some complications in and out of the bedroom.

A View to a Thrill is a story that will be tough for some readers and some readers probably won't mind it, it truly depends on how you view Chelsea. She is a tough nut to crack. Throughout the series since Charlotte's book, she is very unlikeable. She has her own set of rules, she doesn't like to be told what to do, she is stubborn and not willing to take care of herself and has major self worth issues. I really struggled with her character in the first half of the book, and then in the second half of the book I do think the hero could have been a bit more understanding. I did love that there was groveling from the heroine, she needed to do it. Its something I do respect about Lexi Blake.....when her heroine's do wrong, they have to atone for those wrongs (which is normal and healthy) and I love that she is willing to represent those aspects. I had such a ball of fun with this one here, it was a bit different than I was expecting if I am being honest. The author really kept me on my toes and I enjoyed the conclusion but what a teaser for the next book.....I might have to rearrange my TBR for it lol

 My Review:

This was a different type of story but I truly loved it. I think the reason it took me so long to get to it is because neither my library nor KU actually had this book. But I finally grabbed it up and I had such a fun time reading this one here. I truly loved the way in which we have these extended epilogues for some of our favorite couples in this series up to this point this book was published. And there is also many tasty recipes included in this book (which might be why its not in KU). We have a set of different stories (about 6) where we get the POV of each couple where they host a part or gathering of some short with the others. This book was fun, laid back, and heartfelt with a bit of spice included. I actually love it when authors do these type of books, it just adds more layers to the series where you see extended epilogues like this and seeing these couples work through problems. The only one I didn't love very much was our couple from Rock With Me .....I feel like the heroine was very selfish in this one.

 My Review:

This is by far the best one of the trilogy in my opinion. I really had such a fun time with this one and we really see the best things happen for this couple. I also loved how everything gets resolved in the end of this one. I would say this series would feel more contemporary in a dark romance world a bit. Its like the on the edges and not what I would term dark romance but it is connected to a world that has very dark elements to it. But if you are just looking for a contemporary arranged marriage, this isn't a bad way to go. I really felt like this book is where our couple really learns to trust in each other and resolve their issues and become a true team which is why for me its the best book of the series. I loved the way in which we see them work together and connect so beautifully. It just wasn't long enough for me. I wasn't a fan though of the ending in how Charlotte's parents get treated....they are just awful and didn't deserve such grace lol I know I should be better about it but seriously how they treated her especially in this book was horrid. But the story and the actual romance that digs deep in this story was phenomenal and despite my issues with some things in the first two books...this book made it all worth it.

 My Review:

So in Ruthless Groom, this is basically a ANGST FEST book. That is really all that is in here. Its basically these two fighting, not trusting each other and having lots of angry sex lol So not impressed with it at all. I am not really a lover of angsty relationships and it just felt so back and forth between these two and no real growth in their relationship at all. I will say I was totally on the side of the heroine through so much of this. She basically gets slammed with his hate because he doesn't trust her and is mad she had a boyfriend once lol It just shows how immature the hero actually is. It was so hard to get through and I just skipped most of the sex scenes cause they just did nothing except drag out the angsty tension I just wanted these two to get over. It just felt like this one had hardly any purpose in it to be honest. Now if you love angst fests....then have at it lol I was very disappointed that this was how Perry's books were written if I am being honest. But the writing is compelling enough that I did get through it, just wasn't a fun time for this reader.
