First Impressions
One Tiny Lie was a story that I immediately jumped into because this author always seems to work for me just right. I would say that this is a book to read reviews and the blurb on because I think going in blind like I did isn't always the best course of action. I think some of it was I didn't know I was getting into a drama of a love triangle. And so there are certain aspects that just come with that and that includes elements of cheating both emotional and some physical. Also if you don't know you the main characters are you might end up fighting for the wrong man like I did lol but I did stick with it because it was compelling and the ending was pure magic and made the struggles with most of the story worth it!
First Line
"Livie, I think you're completely f****ed up,"
The Main Protagonists
The Hero: Ashton
The Heroine: Olivia
Summary
Livie has always been the good daughter and sister. When her parents were killed she tried to live up their expectations for her. While her sister spiraled out of control, Livie has always tried to do the right thing and not stray from the good path. But now she is entering college, her sister manipulated her into seeing a therapist thinking some hidden monster was lurking inside her and even though she feels a connection to Ashton after a drunken night and sharing some tattoos, she starts dating his best friend, Conor. Conor is easy and kind. He is patient with her and not rushing her into anything but the man she really wants is a manwhore and is always pushing her away. But sometimes love gets in the way of best laid out plans....
What I Loved
What I loved was quite a few things. First I want to say I really loved the heroine for most of the story. I loved her softer quiet personality, her strong and steady path and wanting to be the "good girl". I actually didn't like her sister not accepting her more just because she was different and didn't want to be the party girl like their group was pushing her to be more. I did love Ashton and Livie's relationship with each other especially in the second half. And the ending for this book is what really made this book click. There are secrets that are being kept within this story and you really start to see aspects of those within this story. I loved how we see the elements of what is happening with him and why he has been pushing her away so often. Poor Ashton. My goodness. My heart wept for this man who has so many hidden layers. And when its all revealed, this is where the swoons really enter into the story so perfectly and overrides my issues with the story enough to make me really enjoy it. I do wish the ending had been a bit more dragged out so we could have seen a bit more couple time with Livie and Ashton because once everything is out in the open, their relationship clicks just right and I wanted to see more "couple moments" after this reveal.
What I Struggled With
The love triangle. There is cheating both emotional and physical and I just think the way it all played out in the third act could have been better. What I didn't like was Livie cheating on Conor when he is in the same house, when she actually could have ended it with him and chose not to because apparently she didn't want his parents to think bad of her. I actually felt for Conor in this because he is a good guy that didn't deserve to be cheated on like that and how it came out was so not good. And the hero isn't the easiest to like, he is a bit of a manwhore and a jerk to Livie at times which I wasn't a fan of. And honestly if you are going into this blind ....you are going to want her with Conor a bit more for most of the story lol I just wished we had seen more relationship building happening with Ashton in the first half of the story to make it make more sense on why she is with him over Conor.
Narration
Wonderful!!!! I highly recommend this series in audio. I actually wanted to stick with the audio more than physically reading it and I don't regret it at all. And the narrator is a bit slower so you can easily speed it up which is nice without it taking away from the moment of having a story narrated to you.

Steam/Spice Explanations
Simmering cup of tea---soft warm touches and light intimacy
Warmin' by the fire- a medium level of sexual tension, a balance of sexual and emotional intimacy, lighter on the details in the sexual moments.
Steamin' up the room -the sexual content is more explicit in the language and tone, heavier amount of sexual scenes.
Blazing fire to the building-The prime focus is the sex scenes, scorching hot, and could burn one. Less focus on the emotional intimacy to the relationship.
