Regrettably I couldn't make it through the third chapter. I was very disappointed with the writing, the initial opening chapter and how unfiltered and straightforward it was and the overall direction this book took from the get go. This book was written in a childlike way while being the furthest thing from a children's book - Definitely not something I'd recommend.

I was contacted by Lily Luchesi and offered a free e-copy in exchange for an honest review.

I was immediately intrigued by the plot. This book had a great opening chapter and immediately sucked you in.

I absolutely loved the characters and their personalities. Especially Angelica. That girl could seriously kick some ass.

The biggest complaint I had with this book was everything was seemed so rushed. All the emotions and action packed scenes were over as fast as they started. The characters and their relationships grew and receded so fast, I couldn't even adjust before it was changing again. Even the ending was so rushed. I felt like so much detail that connects the reader to the story was missing. It just needed to be beefed up to support the already great structure it has.

Another (maybe this is petty) thing that bothered me was the immense use of exclamation points. I read the way things would be said in real life, and the exclamation points just seemed to be used in awkward places or overused altogether.

The overall plot and characters were fantastic, and I know this was only 100 pages but there are so many instances where senses, emotion and detail could be infused to beef it up and help connect the reader to the story, that it could easily double in length.

A fast reader and very entertaining! Definitely held my interest!

Favorite book in the series. So much happens and it's the start of that dark path the rest of the series takes. So glad that I made time to reread it!

The writing of course is not my general 'go to' type of writing but the plot underneath that once I got past it was really good and humorous. Really glad this was part of my required reading this semester!

This book is exactly what I needed to read. It got a big message through my head that I needed to understand in real life, and I'm so grateful for reading it at the time that I did.

It was a tough one for me to get through because of how similar it was to my real life, but I needed it, and it helped immensely with my healing process and coming out of this experience a stronger person.

I absolutely LOVE this book and am so glad that I was able to read it at a time when I really needed it. That's the best way to read, isn't it?

For being a second book, I can't say I hated it. That's usually something I say about the middle book in a series, and it's not because it's a habit.

It's usually because the middle book is full of unnecessary stuff that could have been added the end of the 1st book or beginning of the last book. Generally nothing of any significance happens in the second book of a trilogy. There have been some exceptions though and this was one of them.

A lot happens. There's a ton that is explained BUT so much is still so confusing by the end of the book. I still don't understand much, but through the second book, I've learned a lot too - though what was taught didn't really do much to explain the overall plot.

This was the absolutely greatest ending to this series that Dashner could have written.

I was really skeptical. With 60 pages left in the book, I was panicking. There was still so much left unresolved and I hate books that cram everything into the last 3 chapters.

But Dashner didn't do that. Everything was tied up by the end of the book and suddenly 2 and a half books of confusion made perfect sense. I understood the whole series and I finally got what everything meant.

I'm so glad I stuck with it and read it through to the end. This was a great ending to a great trilogy.

This book was awesome. I love Rainbow Rowell's writing style and this did not disappoint.

I loved Cass and her relationships with those around her. She was so relatable and I loved how much I could connect with her. Levi, Wren, Dad, Mom, Reagan - all of them were so well developed and unique to themselves. There wasn't a character that wasn't developed enough or that I needed to know more of.

Bottom Line: I loved this book. Though it didn't take the place of Eleanor & Park as my favorite Rainbow Rowell book, I still adored this and am so glad I finally read it.

Oh. My. God. This book took my breath away. I honestly mean that - the last 30 pages or so, I don't think I full exhaled once.

I sat in a book coma for an extended period of time trying to come up with words for how this book made me feel.

I won't lie - there were points where I was confused. But by the end, it all made sense and it made me want to go back and reread all those parts over again, which should always be the authors goal - to make you want to reread.

I loved the writing style. It was so different from many other books I've read.

This was disturbing and suspenseful and terrifying and made me want to hold my breath even though I kind of knew what was coming.

I'm still not fully out of my book coma that this book has induced so I'll end here. Wow....just, wow.

I don't know how I'm going to be a decent English teacher if I can't fall in love with the Classics somehow. They're good but I guess I'm having a difficult time wrapping my head around what the author is trying to get across.

I take too many books at face value, and I wish I would see deeper (even as my professors TRY to get me to see deeper). It's still just a plot with characters and themes. I don't see those underlying bits that they try to get me to see.
