I really wasn't expecting to like this. I'll admit it, I'm generally a cover buyer. I judge books based on their appearance and seeing this on the shelf just didn't make me want to read it.

But I bought it anyway. Don't ask me why...probably because it was on sale. And usually sale books with meh covers aren't anything to get excited over. But I read it anyway.

And I loved it.

It's not my usual go to storyline but the relationship between Bee and Tommy is so amazing and reminds me exactly of how close my brother and I are. I can relate so much to these characters.

I loved that the book didn't focus on a boy who was terminally ill or a girl's first crush or any one element but instead it was all of them. They all came together and it all affected each other. It was all important.

And I was so glad that I didn't skip past this book and miss out on such a beautiful story.

Read for my Modern Western Literature class as an example of Realism and the growing movement of women's rights.

This was a great example and one of the better choices of literature I've read for this class - very glad I was able to read it!

Mark Watney is an amazing character. He's the definition of what you hope every character will be and you fall in love with characters like him.

Bottom line, this book feels like it teaches you something. You laugh and you sit on the edge of your seat and you cannot wait to see how it all ends. And those are the best kinds of books - the ones that make you root for the character and want to see how it all wraps up.

A writing style that I'm not familiar with makes stories like this difficult to fall in love with. But the tone of the story still came through and I still felt a connection with the characters by the end.

Definitely a depressing short story by Joyce; one that is not only realistic but also reminds the reader that sometimes you'll try really hard for something and still not get anywhere.

I'm not the biggest fan of Christian Fiction. I simply don't like my reading material to have undertones of religion and what the reader should or shouldn't believe in.

HOWEVER

I was surprised with this book. The writing was beautiful and very well put together and though Scarlett was driven through finding God to help put herself back together, I didn't feel like Coker was forcing a religious belief on whoever was reading her words.

I really enjoyed Scarlett's journey to finding herself and what she believed in and finding a way to cope with all the challenges life threw at her.

Another read for my class - definitely one of the more interesting and humorous ones we've had to read this semester.

First of all, the title didn't give any sort of hint towards what kind of mythological, supernatural battle super novel I was about to crack open. This book was enticing. I couldn't put it down. The descriptions were so detailed and well laid out that it was like watching a movie play in my head - and honestly, those are the best kinds of books, aren't they?

Skyy is a kick-ass character. There is literally no other way to describe how amazing she is and the kind of power she brings to this read.

I adored Sheldon's writing style. I love the ending as well, and am excited for the next installment of Skyy's adventure!

It was....confusing. Definitely one of the more bizarre pieces read for my Modern Western lit course.

This one was a bit easier to understand and see where it was going. Definitely made me nervous to read - worried for the narrator and his friend but understood the underlying message the author conveyed.
