I don't know how I'm going to be a decent English teacher if I can't fall in love with the Classics somehow. They're good but I guess I'm having a difficult time wrapping my head around what the author is trying to get across.

I take too many books at face value, and I wish I would see deeper (even as my professors TRY to get me to see deeper). It's still just a plot with characters and themes. I don't see those underlying bits that they try to get me to see.
