I really didn't enjoy this book. I was really looking forward to it and have had it on my to-read shelf forever, but when I dragged myself all the way to chapter 6, I simply couldn't read any more. I was so annoyed with the characters and the way they acted - they were very shallow. They had no depth and really didn't make me relate to any of them. There was also the religious factor, which I am more than happy to read about, however this book felt as though religion was being forced on the reader - it was the all-encompassing theme of the book rather than the plot itself. Overall, I was very disappointed and was hoping for more, but luckily I have plenty other books to dedicate my time to.

Again, John Green gets that beautiful writing can win over readers. This was the first John Green book where tears weren't shed, but it was absolutely beautiful anyway.
I know that the movie is coming out and knew I had to finish this prior to seeing it. I absolutely loved it. After reading Looking for Alaska and TFiOS, I know that this isn't my favorite John Green book, but that doesn't take away from how wonderful it is.
I loved the continued theme throughout and the growth all our characters go through. I loved the ending and how it was all tied up nicely with a bow. It was a gorgeous read and had I had the time, it would have been a book I'd finish in one sitting.
So glad to finally have read it and be able to see the movie version - beauty like this is hard to find in books but JG executes it flawlessly yet again.
Definitely recommend you grab this one!

Oh my goodness. I want to throw this book. All that. All the build-up and wonderful goodness of this book and it just ends. That was honestly the most abrupt, ridiculous ending to such a good book that I've ever read.
Okay. Sorry, just finished reading but I cannot believe that ending. That was so disappointing. Anyway.
What did I think of this book? It was beautiful. The writing was average. The plot and characters, however? Phenomenal. I needed to read a book like this. A book that was so raw in showing all the hardships people with different disabilities and conditions have to go through.
Matthew and Amy....where to start. I have never experienced anything like what these two have gone through, yet I feel almost enlightened - like I've been given a bird's-eye - view into the life of someone going through these issues.
I had my doubts. My severe doubts at points that the plot was going downhill. And by downhill I mean I was going to close this book and never look back. But I was surprised with how it turned out. Honestly, I'm glad I grabbed this and gave it a chance. I needed it. This beautiful, wonderful book.
3.5 stars (the ending and abrupt plot twists and awkward chapter endings got a lot of point deductions). But trust me. It's worth reading.

I received a free copy via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
I honestly really enjoyed this book. It is one of the few books that I really could relate to the relationship between the main characters because it was so realistic. I know we all read books like TFIOS and dream of relationships like that, but the real ones are like the relationship between Wendy and Simon.
Their relationship was raw. The timing was never right and they never stopped loving each other even when they both craved hate. It was so painful for me to read at points because I wanted to grab Wendy's had and just tell her, "I've been you. I get it completely."
This book received 4 Stars however because there were points where I feel like the author dragged it out. I feel like the main character grew up to a certain point and then she peaked and didn't grow anymore. Which is fine, we all get to that point where there is no where else to go, but I just wish it had ended then instead of continuing to drag on.
Overall, I really enjoyed it. One the best NetGalleys I've received to date!

What is there to say other than rave about how absolutely beautiful this book was?
I cannot believe this book sat on my shelf unread for so long. I send a big thank you to Taylor for recommending it to me and threatening to end our friendship if I didn't put it on the top of my tbr pile.
I'm so glad that I FINALLY read this book and understand what all the hype was about. It was a perfect read.

This book took me This book took me by surprise. I absolutely loved the plot. I think the idea was absolutely amazing and loved the route it took and the way it ended.
What bugged me more than anything was probably the characters. I couldn’t connect at all and unfortunately that ruined the upswing the plot had initially set for me.
Even at the end of the first book in this series, I didn’t feel as though I connected to the characters and unfortunately that’s a huge piece of whether or not I fall in love with a book. I was very disappointed that I didn’t love it more because the story was fantastic. It was just the characters weren’t anything that stuck out to me, and won’t stick out to me in the future.
