i found some parts of the writing cringey, but overall i really liked this. i usually dont like it when books have conflicts like this one, but i didnt mind it here. the characters were fairly well developed, and the story was sweet. it could have been a little shorter

this is so hard to rate. the first 75% was basically 5 stars. but i didnt like the time they spent apart; it was super weird!!! and idk the last quarter was just not it, esp the miscommunication, but i do think i prefer it to the last one. but i felt like ryan could have done a better job of communicating to her. like he really could have communicated what he wanted to say if he only tried harder. but i do love the characters and the story was quite beautiful.

i didnt love the first half of this bc kinsley lowkey had a lot of internalized misogyny and i was nervous that there was gonna be a third act breakup but there WASNT!!!!! it was just a couple conquering life’s challenges together, which i love. i also didnt feel their chemistry in the first half, but R.S. Grey really developed their compatibility in the second half. and wilder’s dominance during the steamy scenes was *chefs kiss*. However, it bugged me how famous they were. No college freshman is ever in the New York Times

this was a pretty good fantasy romance. i didnt love the plot twist though, but i will read the next book, because i know everything will be resolved. also, i almost guessed the plot twist, then changed my mind. overall, the first 85% was like 4 stars but the end brought it down a bit
