Honestly if you’re just looking for a sweet primal romance, then this is it. It short and simple into the point. It’s a very sweet love story and if you’re into some of the more harder core books then this is a great way to cleanse the palate in between. Almost like the after care of books.
I LOVE this book. It's a Peter Pan retelling. One thing I think people fail to realize with books like these is, you can hate the characters all day long and not agree with them, and STILL like the book. You don't have to agree with, or even like the main characters. But, also, if you don't like morally grey characters with god complexes that will literally kill for you, what are you doing here?
This is a true villain love story. It is the epitome of the good girl and the bad guy or the really, really depraved, psychopath. She loves him despite all the horrible, terrible things he has done, but honestly, that may be due to her own trauma.
The story is a bit insta love, which was a little disappointing since I read Scarred first and the slow burn there was great. HOWEVER, I also see how that insta love is needed for the plot, even if it isn't my favorite. I DO feel like Wendy could have been more rounded out, but I can also see that she isn't as well rounded because of her upbringing, so that's two-fold.
I would have REALLY loved to see the drama at the end last a bit longer. It felt like it was over a bit too soon.
She did a great job sprinkling in Peter Pan easter eggs. I really didn't think we would see the acorns pop up at all and then my heart was extremely happy.
MINI SPOILER
I also didn't care for the epilogue. It felt very forced. I would have liked to see more about how in the heck they raised kids when he literally kills people all the time. Like really and truly, HOW did that work? It ended up leaving me with more questions than if the book had ended without the epilogue. Like are we raising the kids to take over this business? How does Wendy feel about that? Do they know anything? What is Jon's role in this? I felt like it was more of an excuse to drag out their romance.
Overall this was a good book.

Overall this was a good book.
This book was wonderful. The banter is to die for. And while it’s not a true enemies to lovers, it was still extremely cute and a wonderful light read.
This book was a beautiful comfort read. My heart felt so full, almost the entire book, broke a lot in the middle and was full again by the end.
The author creates these very dynamic characters that make it very easy to fall in love with them. There are parts where it can lull a little, but I think it’s what makes it so comforting. Really recommend if you’re coming off a dark book that broke your heart.
I do wish we’d learned a bit more about the characters in certain aspects. I also would have loved to see food that we don’t normally see in the real world.
Overall though it was comfort in a book.

Loved the atmosphere and the plot.
Easy read.
Enemies to lovers.
Could have used more context for the setting but overall good.

I finished this book sort of thinking that’s it?
I think this book has some good takes especially on white supremacy and the hoops people will jump through to justify the oppression they are perpetuating.
But I felt myself wanting more? Like something from this narrative was missing? Not sure what it was.
The narrator is extremely unreliable from the beginning which can make it hard to sympathize or even know what true.

So cute. Loved the banter and the tension. Delicious. There was a scene where Zach hears her with another guy that I thought would be addressed but we literally never hear about it again or who she was with? It was odd.
This book was amazing. I enjoyed learning the backstory, not just to snow, but to much of what we see in Katniss’ games.
It’s interesting to see what it was like before the games were truly solidified and how they came to be.
Snow, like Katniss is an unreliable narrator so I’m interested in seeing her portrayal in the movie and if we maybe get to learn more of what happens to her.

I LOVE this book. It's a lion king retelling. It is not meant for the faint of heart or anyone that wants a healthy romance. It is depraved, dark, and twisted. Tristan is a perfect morally grey character. His god complex is beautiful.
