Validating and empowering. Short and sweet. Def an easy read for the neurodivergent peeps. She does a great job outlining the big points and telling you when you can skip chapters if you aren’t interested. I saw her on TikTok and thought I’d try her book and it was everything I hoped for.
This book was unfairly cute. I very much enjoyed the banter and the metaphors and the voices of the characters.
Adorable characters. I felt so seen with the disability rep even though I have Dysautonomia and it’s not exactly the same thing.
The characters are well rounded and developed over the course of the story.
I do wish I’d gotten to see more of the sisters because I know they are the main characters in two other books by Talia. But I don’t feel so attached that I need to go read them.
“I want to kiss you in every city”

I reserve one stars for DNFs otherwise this would be a one star.
Fin is far up his own add I’m surprised he notices anyone else. I kept going because I was like maybe he has some great character development.
He says things like: (I listened to the audiobook so quotes may not be exact).
-I have ego to spare
-I’m a catch
-I’m blessed with good looks curtesy of 24/ fitness
-when I broke up with a girl the parents were just as sad as the girl
He sees her anxious over flying and said something along the lines of but pushing her buttons was fun. And no. Just not. It’s not fun for you to do that to a stranger on the plane that clearly hates flying.
He does not respect her boundaries at all. He shows up to the place her family was having dinner that he only knows about because she drunkenly told him.
She was setting a boundary for this meal about him leaving because she didn’t want to do it and verbally agrees but internally says that it’s cute she thinks she’s in charge. Then proceeds to not do what he just agreed to do.
Home girl has some eating issues and after eating a slice of pie goes to the gym for three hours and it wasn’t really addressed at all.
The issue with the sister was drawn out and annoying. ESP because the rest of the family has been encouraging her to get over it. And with what happened I don’t think it was forgivable. Then Finn gets mad that he didn’t get the full truth?! Like what? In what world are you entitled to her story??
And mom excusing it by saying that love doesn’t always see right and wrong. No ma’am.
His house is a bit of a mess and the next morning she cleans up for him by doing things like laundry and cleaning counters and no. I just… I don’t have words.
The author also uses a lot of toddler metaphors. She looked like an overtired toddler. We looked like toddlers waking up. And it was really off putting.

Def more light and fluffy as it does lack substance
It does have a bit of a teenage feel to it that I wasn’t expecting considering they’re both adults

Great easy holiday read. Not necessarily light and fluffy due to topics addressed.
