It’s okay, but not great.

This book brings all kinds of complications into Abbey’s life that make for an interesting new mystery. I really like this series.

CW: Domestic Abuse/Violence

I really thought this cozy was well done in bringing in a protagonist very fresh on the heels of leaving a violently abusive marriage. This isn’t something I’ve read in cozy mysteries before. It’s a very important message and I’m glad the author shared it.

This is a good story but I sometimes feel that the stereotypes and outlandish behaviour of certain characters threatens to derail it. Still enjoyable, though!
