I don't normally read straight romance, but the synopsis on NetGalley hooked me. I really enjoyed the characters and the relationships in this novel. The backstories and characterization had more depth and dimension than most romance (mystery or paranomal or otherwise) that I've read, which was an extremely pleasant surprise.
This is a 'slow burn' story, which is much more my cup of tea than the alternative (passion inferno? fiery pit of lust?), and indeed, there are no 'quivering pleasure centres' or 'throbbing members' to distract from the emotional connection between the characters.
As a non-romance reader, this was an incredibly enjoyable love story. The perfect escapist book to lose yourself in.

This is a great anthology filled with creative interpretations of classic fairy tales. As with all anthologies, some stories are better than others. Here are my personal favourites:
Figment by Jeri-Smith Ready
The Raven Princess by Jon Skovron
Thinner Than Water by Saundra Mitchell
Untethered by Sonia Gensler
Better by Shaun David Hutchinson
A Real Boy by Claudia Gray
Beauty And The Chad by Sarah Rees Brennan
Sell Out by Jackson Pearce
This collection is a heady mix of modernization, traditionalism, queer and straight romances, religion, revenge, witchcraft, dark tragedy and silly comedy. There's something for every reader in these pages to enjoy.

This was an enjoyable cozy mystery about an American gardener trying to make a go of it in London. The pacing was not great and it plodded along for most of the book. The characters were interesting, however. This would appeal to gardening enthusiasts and Anglophiles who don't mind a slower-paced novel.
A steampunk adventure set in an alternate USA, this novel is chock full of rich characterizations, meaty plots and heady romance.
Combining Greek gods with Christianity, post-slavery US with indentured servitude and technology with magic, The Inventor's Secret creates an enticing world you'll never want to leave.
