I read this for the "Written By A Female Author" part of my 2020 reading challenge. It was my first time reading it, and I thought it was perfect. It's soft and gentle and rhymed and it would be easy to read at bedtime and I can see children loving it. No wonder it's a classic.
I read this for the "A Book That Leaves You Thinking" part of my 2020 reading challenge. I really enjoy Kobi Yamada, or at least both of the books that I've read. They communicate a great message in a really simple, approachable way. And the art is cute.
I read this for the "By An Indigenous Author" part of my 2020 reading challenge. I loved it, I think I liked it even better than the first book. I really enjoy the character of Maggie and how she's trying to change, and I loved her relationship with Ben. I'm really looking forward to book 3.
I read this for the "A Bestseller" part of my 2020 reading challenge. I really enjoyed it, I really felt for Alice and appreciated how strong she was in standing up for herself. The ending felt a bit rushed and incomplete, but the rest of it I couldn't put down.
I read this for the "A Book That Cost You Less Than $5" part of my 2020 reading challenge. It was a cute, original tale. Mr. Jeremy Fisher certainly had a rough day.
I read this for the "A Guilty Pleasure" part of my 2020 reading challenge. It was a really cute book about how Adorabilis and other ocean creatures got their names, I was really impressed that they made an Anglerfish almost cute.
I read this for the "A Book Featuring The Medical Profession" part of my 2020 reading challenge. I really enjoyed the art style, but felt the story line was too simple and not convincing enough.
i read this for the "Set In Winter" part of my 2020 reading challenge. "Not your grandmother's Nutcracker tale" was right, this was fantastic. It was dark and violent romantic and I enjoyed that the fairies were the ones bringing technology in instead of the other way around. I'm glad it ended the way it did.
I read this for the "Literary Fiction" part of my 2020 reading challenge. I thought it was fascinating and really well done, it was a perfect amount of information without being dry or overwhelming, and I had never heard of most of these women.
I read this for the "Literary Fiction" part of my 2020 reading challenge. I expected to like this, I wish I had liked this, but I really didn't. I usually like historical fiction and fantasy and everything, but this was just really slow and lackluster. The second half was easier to get through than the first half, but I still felt really let down by this book.
