He knew Will Herondale had never haunted the moral world, because he had lived and died happily and had no unfinished business among the living. While Magnus didn’t subscribe to any specific set of beliefs about reincarnation or the afterlife, he had always had a strong sense that Will was waiting on the other bank of a dark river—be it Lethe, or some other border between the living and the dead. He was there among the green grass, the sky above as dark a blue as his eyes, waiting patiently for Jem and Tessa to join him, that he might lead them by the hand to whatever wonders lay beyond the veil.

Loved loved loved the Elzar and Avar content in this book. Their arc was incredible.
Same with Burry and Bell, and Cair and Xylan they're so amazing.
Vernestra is the only one that didn't felt as interesting as before. But maybe that's just cause I'm still mad at her for the end of Defy the Storm. But I think she doesnt feel closer to what we see in The Acolyte in a way Lina was awsome too !
This was described as a Jedi love story, and that's exactly what it was. Which is shocking for THR, because usually they pitch us a sweet and nice thing and inside the book it's angst and destruction.
But no. Not here. No one died or was left on the brink of death.
Which also makes me wonder how it'll feel to read the next book and see the jedi defeating the Nihil and Nameless and Drengir. I'm not used to the good guys winning in THR 😭

That book was really good ! I loved the continued exploration of all the characters.
Gabriel, Gideon, and Cecily positively surprised me.
I do whish it had a bit more plot tho, but it's okay, the characters where worth it.
(That epilogue is a crime. Like, it's been a week, and I'm still crying. But it's a crime in a good way. It was masterfully written)

This song (Brother, by Kodaline), is Jem and Will and no one can convince me otherwise, it's perfect for them.
Now I'll always cry when hearing it 😃
—————————————
1am : My heart has just been ripped out
3am : I finished it two hours ago and am still crying and I can't sleep cause I feel like my throat is closedand that epilogue is in my head 😃
10am : The first thing I thought of when waking up was that book and I started crying again and feeling nauseous.
WHAT DID IT DO TO ME ?!?!?!?!?!
2 days later : So, I was crying aboutthat epilogue and I opened tiktok only to find sad Shadowhunter Chronicles edits 💀

The first half of the book was really good, and the second one was perfection.
The end, with the Clave's reaction to the events of the book angered me sooo much. That treaty with the Seelies is obviously abusive (and very like that that was forced on Germany at the end of WW1), and their treatment of Hellen is just awful. Made me wanna jump into the book and shake the sense back into them.
Just crying over the fact that Will's descendent is the reason Jem can be free now. And the reason he could do that is thanks to the descendent of his Lightwood and Fairchild family 🥹🥹😭😭
