I read a review saying that Neil Gaiman wrote each part on its own and then combined them into this book and knowing that going in I think helped quite a bit as this reads like a collection of short stories.
This has a great found family and while it’s not a new favourite middle grade for me I would still recommend it and possibly re-read it in the future. I only wish that I had read this when I was younger as more than likely it would have been a favourite.

Fuck this book.
Edit: the wholeforgiveness thing pissed me off so much that I’m dropping it by a half star.
Edit: the whole
I didn’t enjoy this as much as I thought I would upon a re-read. I mean it has been ten years but it‘s disappointing. This isn’t a bad ending to the trilogy but I wish there was more. Still did tear up though.
I think I love this more than book one. I also hate how much was taken out for the movie we were robbed.
I really enjoyed this and I would recommend it but I didn’t love the plot, characters or world.
