Age: Toddler-Kindergarten

Another mother-child relationship where the mother will always be there to protect her child from the possibilities of the dangerous world. Pretty generic.

Age: Infant
Family: Stay-at-home dad, older sister, working mother, and baby

A worthwhile addition for stay-at-home dads (although the cover is misleading because it shows mom kissing baby when the majority of the book focuses on baby and dad). The observational text "here is the baby, here is the daddy, here is the etc." is unfortunately tedious and grating with a rocky flow throughout. But babies and toddlers will enjoy the pictures and may relate to a day in the life of this baby.

And one final note, every person has a specific title in this book except for the librarian. She is just some "lady." So, you know.

Age: 1st - 2nd grade

A great concept but executed poorly. If there was no T-Rex in the story but just a human dad, the writing would need no alterations. Dinosaur lovers might like it for the illustrations but certainly not for the story. It seems like the author needed to make a book that would sell and preyed on an easy subject.

Age: Preschool

Not much substance but the illustrations are fun. I know they had to put "Mom" on the cover, but it kinda ruins the whole guessing game of the book.

Charrier presents the innocence of a little girl as her well-intentioned actions lead to her mother politely scolding her. I've been looking at this book over and over again to figure out why it's so blase for me. I think the softness of the illustrations clashes something fierce with the silliness of the story. Perhaps if it is read the right way then children will giggle along with this girl's interpretation of everyday activities.

Age: 2 years - Preschool

Simple rhymes accompanied with bright, fuzzy pictures of daddies and their children throughout the animal kingdom. Two stanzas are missing a syllable which chops up the flow. There isn't much text so this mistake is hard to accept.

Age: 3 years - preschool

A subject not often touched, a daddy takes his little girl out on the tracker to tend to the fields. Full of new vocabulary, this may only be interesting to farming families.
