This was an intriguing story overall.
An impoverished writer that inherited her late aunt's will and everything that comes with the name, a mansion that she lived at for the last years.
It is not all that easy, as everything comes with a catch.
Sarah has to be the wannabe detective in a cold case and discover whether Lucy was killed or what happened with her after she disappeared a long time ago from the same place, Cragsmore mansion.
There’s a deadline for it as well. Within 6 months she has to solve it or everything goes to someone else. Let me tell you, that person is not as nice and cool as Sarah.
What comes next is an intricate puzzle game where not everything is what it seems and not everyone is happy to help when needed.
Twists and secrets are coming out one after the other in the old mansion.
The tension builds up with each chapter, and the end of the story is as satisfying as you would expect.

I loved the previous book in the series and I loved this one as well. It feels a bit surreal to read it in these times when the royal family is so much on the spotlight. But I enjoyed every second of it. I can only imagine the reality of being the security of a royal family member let alone one so famous as Diana was.
The author is well known for his ability to woven real facts with fiction and take you on a ride. The characters are so well drawn and feel like someone that I actually know and interact at times in real life. There’s a lot going on in here. Some predictable turns but many unexpected twists as well, especially midway through the story.
What amazed me was Beth, Warwick’s wife. She plays a big part in the story.
It was interesting to just imagine them all in 1988 and the investigation process. I guess many of those tactics still applies nowadays.
Action packed, thrilling and exciting new story from a now favourite thrillers author.

A new book in the series and one that picked my interest from all the rave reviews and hype that I’ve seen around all social media platforms.
I haven’t read an Elle Kennedy book in a while and was looking forward to it.
I love a good second chance romance and if they are older and hopefully wiser, I’m all in for it.
Genevieve left her hometown a while back but life had other plans for her. Going back for a funeral, and meeting up with her old friends and especially her ex boyfriend wasn’t what she wanted. Trying to take a turn on the right side of life after so many bad decisions, she’s not sure that getting back with her old habits is a wise decision.
I found her quite undecided and annoying at times to be honest. She did outgrow in the end and became a more likeable character but it took a while for me to get used to her personality.
As far as the romance story goes, it’s had everything you would expect. On and off again, steamy scenes and chemistry, as long as drawn out dialogue.
I think it’s a book that many will enjoy, some more than others.
