This series is so addictive that I can’t seem to stop reading it.

This time we are headed to Beijing. I can’t say that I’ve read many if any books set in China and it was interesting to read about a culture that I didn’t know too much.

It is a fast-paced read with many turns and twists. Jack Morgan is teaming up with Zhang Daiyu on the rollercoaster ride to battle the crime society that is killing his team.

I loved how we get a big glimpse into his other facade, the more personal part of his life.

The investigation is downright scary with the adrenaline rush escalating with each new chapter, and the epic conclusion is so worth the wait. I felt it was not all over and maybe we will get to meet some characters in future books.

Addictive, fast paced and thrilling story.

I enjoyed The Waiter so much and was looking forward to read The Cook.

In this second instalment of the series, we get more into the characters mind and life.

Kamil finds himself into the middle of a new crime investigation and is trying his best to help the detectives to solve this crime.

I think the author has an amazing talent to draw attention to details in the most unexpected ways and the characters and story just feels like is running flawlessly.

With a great mix of good and bad vibes, lots of suspense and thrilling moments, this one is no exception a must read story for any thriller lovers. I know I’ll be looking forward to any follow up books by him on this series.

If you are like me and now and then are seeking a great romance full of angst and emotions, then look no further than this book.

I love Vicki’s books, and this one hit all the marks for what I’m seeking in a romance story.

Logan and Hannah are not your usual couple. They fall in love when unexpected circumstances come down on both.

Logan is still feeling guilty for not being able to help his friend when he dies.

Hannah is a single mother that didn’t have her husband around for long as he was one of the most looked up rockstar and she is left to take care of their young daughter.

The emotions are felt throughout the story. With each chapter, I felt like something good must happen to them both because I can’t take this anymore. They deserve better, both of them. And then it does.

And it also shows how much love can do. It can heal and give hopes where needed.

Beautifully written, angsty and a must read romance book.

The cover is so cute and when @novelfriendsbookclub decide to read it in October; I knew I had to join.

Beth is running away and her luck doesn't seem to get better. Her car fails, and she finds herself on the side of the road in a partially deserted place. In comes our hero, Evan, ex marine and a young man that is trying his best to keep the inn he works at afloat.

It will take a few days for her car to be ready, so she took his on his offer on staying and working at the inn.

What followed is a close-proximity, getting to know everyone in the small town and especially catching feelings for one another.

I enjoyed the writing and the overall story. It reads like a Hallmark movie, but way better, in my opinion. I found it well balanced with a great mix of characters and sweet and funny moments and some heartbreaking scenes, especially from their past.

Being a debut story, I’m more than sold that the author will find lots of readers who will enjoy her books, myself, including.

If you enjoy small town vibes, like Virgin River and Gilmore girls, look no further than this story.

Beautiful romance story that will fill your heart to the brim.

The empress was an interesting read.

A mix of romance with what life at the palace means to say it shortly.

Sisi is a well-known character in the history. The descriptions of the settings in the Bavarian mountains are really drawing attention and the whole romanticised story will get the attention of fans of historical romance.

A lot of this book is based on their characters and mostly on the relationship between Sisi and her sister, Helene, as well as Franz, the emperor.

There are a few things that didn’t really worked for me here. I felt like the past and present could’ve been more developed, especially since Franz has suffered for so long with PTSD and it’s normal. Afterwards, he had to witness so much cruelty and violence over the years.

Sisi is a “do whatever she wants” character. She won’t abide by the court rules. She wants to marry because she loved her future husband and tries everything to escape her royal duties.

In my opinion, she acted various times like a spoiled child and not like a young woman that would be a proud empress. Her rebellious facade is understandable but everything has limits, in my opinion.

Overall, it is an interesting, romanticised story where fiction and reality combine to bring a show to the masses.

After seeing the author’s name and books everywhere on social media I knew I had to at least try one for myself.
It was a hard read from so many pov. I always knew that Scottish names and places are harder to pronounce or even remember if you’re not used to them, and honestly that’s not even half of what I found hard in here.
The writing felt too much for me. I’m nowhere near anything academic or such skilled person, but this was a hard story to even keep up with. The cult factor set up the whole story and expectations. There are so many unconventional and “weird” things happening here. From the way they interact to each other, to the so called power they must get in one night celebration. I’m not even sure what happened in the last chapter. Why would you even go back?
There are a few characters that made the story a bit more believable and intriguing. But my overall experience is that unfortunately this one is definitely not for me.
Will I try another book if the author in the future? Maybe , but not too soon probably.

This was the first book that I’ve read by the author but omg. It’s so good. Loved the characters so much and all the twisted unexpected scenes. This is one of those stories that must be read by any lovers of romance books and I couldn’t recommend it enough!
