This was a fun read, but it ended in a way that I'm very fine with not continuing with the series. I liked most of the characters (Hades/Persephone/Lexa/Hecate), but I felt like a lot of the other gods and characters we met were really one dimensional and unimportant to the story. I think if you're a fan of romance/erotica, and enjoy it when stories have an interesting plot, that this is probably going to be a book for you!

What an atmospheric haunting story. The first 2/3 were creepy and mysterious and I thoroughly enjoyed most of it. I don't quite love the last 50ish pages, it just wrapped up a little too predictably.

What a delightful way to take in some myths! Stephen Fry's storytelling is exceptional, engaging, and so fascinating to listen to. He narrates the audiobook, and I'd definitely recommend going that route if you plan on reading this book. The added oral storytelling really brings these myths to life!

Interesting premise, and I really liked the art style. It was perfectly gritty and really complemented the words on the page. But, this first volume just didn't make me care enough about the plot or characters to move onto volume 2 any time soon. Glad I gave this a try though. It had been on my TBR forever!

This was fantastic! I saw someone mention the book on Instagram and decided to pick it up. So glad I did. Loved the art style, the story, and the characters! It was just a fun, quick trip. Looking forward to seeing where this story goes, for sure!

This was incredible, but very hard to read at times. Akwaeke Emezi is a fantastic storyteller who was able to create an amazing, emotional, whimsical story that was so very dark and heartbreaking, but with a message that was so very optimistic. What a masterpiece!

Books written in the 1800s are a little too hard for me to read, and I need to remember that.

I love sloths, because they're incredible critters. This was pretty dry a lot of times, though I enjoyed seeing the photos. Not sure if I'll read any more nonfic books about animals, but I'm happy to have read outside my comfort zone with this one.

This was absolutely delightful! Pearl, Tooth, and Eez were wonderful characters who went through so much in such few pages. This was laugh out loud funny at times and heartbreaking on the next page. I adored every minute of reading this and didn't want it to end.
