What an intriguing, delightful story! I was entranced from page 1 by the characters, the plot, the setting, just all of it! The fact that so much can be told in 100 pages is one of the reasons I absolutely love novellas. This one is inspired by The Little Mermaid, and I love the added in sci-fi elements. The author really made something fantastic here, and I'll definitely be on the look out for any other books by her.

I really enjoyed this one. Loved the characters, their struggles and strengths, and how the story progressed. The writing is excellent, and I loved seeing a fat woman who loves her body on page and completely unapologetic!
Not a huge fan of the fandom aspects, and I ended just skimming those pages, but if you like those elements (fanfic and movie script blurbs), I think this will probably be an easy 5 star read for you!

What the heck did I just read? I loved this weirdness and the unlikeable characters, but the actual plot/reasons behind how the story progressed, not so much. I felt like what was there wasn't incredibly developed, or I just wasn't smart enough to get it. Either way, I didn't end up enjoying this one as much as I'd have liked.

What a great fantasy! Loved the characters and the world building so freaking much. Some of the plot points were a bit predictable, but with such a character driven story, those elements were to be expected. Cannot wait to read more by this author and see where this story goes from here!

My eyes didn't stay dry for long while reading this book. Chris's pain of losing her son is so palpable. And so is her love for him. This is a fantastic, horrifying novella. The writing is excellent, and the story instantly sucked me in. I couldn't stop reading.

This was a phenomenal story from start to finish. It didn't pull punches and everything the family endures here is heartwrenching. I loved every aspect of this but especially the different POVs and timelines. Those were woven together flawlessly.

What a fantastic second volume! Loved seeing the development in the characters' friendship as well as learning more about their backstory. The art is incredible, and I need the next volume soon! This ending gutted me!

I loved this novella! The alternate history, tech, and characters were all fascinating. And the setting! *Chef's kiss* perfect! Everything came together here making just one exceptional story. Highly recommend!

What a story! I tend to stay away from romance because it's not always my preferred genre, but every so often, I come across a real winner like this one! The characters were fun to follow, lighthearted and very fleshed out. I loved their dynamics together and a part. And then there was the story! It kept me so interested from start to finish. I loved the political elements, the mysteries...and that ending! You better believe I'm picking up book 2 ASAP!
