Oooo it hooked me from the beginning! I love a dark romance spin on a fairytale.
I was left wanting more, I can't wait to read the rest of the series because I'm dying for this story to continue. All I can do now is hope this interconnected series has main character reappearing as side characters throughout the series.
I want this book to be twice as long and continue after the initial conflict is wrapped up. This was a great stalker romance with some BDSM aspects.

As always check your 🔫 triggers before jumping into any darker romances.

Favorite of the series so far.

First lightening bug is not a great pet name but it is 100% less cringe than inmate.
Lor is finally coming into her own in this one and way less annoying and whiny. Some much of the story is coming together, I'm enjoying the mythical back story to the artifacts and the gods.
The added third POV of Gabriel really helps to expand the story.
A Heist, espionage, secrets and spice. This book had a bit of everything for me, I really enjoyed this one.

I love the Freida McFadden pokes fun at herself, it's like she woke up and said "let's do a silly one"
Main character Alice is so dumb it's comical. Tension of a thriller but with all the most ridiculous twists that will make you roll your eyes and laugh.
This is exactly what I needed after reading a few serious and heavy books.
Excellent palate cleanser of a book.

I had a hard time getting into this one at first. It felt choppy and kind of jumped forward a lot. The more I read, the more I could literally feel the emotions oozing out of this book.
It reads very high school, and I just wanted to help her when she felt like she had no one. I love that art became her outlet, and it left me wanting to try and draw a tree.
This story, being based on the authors personal experience, makes it all the more heartbreaking.

This one definitely dove into the characters more. I like Nadir more and Lor less.
In my opinion, no youngest sibling acts this way. Like she is somehow responsible for her older siblings it doesn't come across as realistic.
Nadir constantly calling Lor "inmate" is ick. Especially since at this point, it's obvious they are into each other. I love an enemies to lovers and banter, but this slow burn is too slow for me. Lor is annoying in this one, I'm hoping that turns around in the next one.

I wanted a little more from this one but still enjoyed it.
Both main characters are definitely morally grey, and I'm here for it 🥰 Love the dual POV
The story is a bit far-fetched for me, but once you let go of logic, it's a fun ride.

This story is exactly what you think it will be, same vibes as the rest of the series.
Is this story necessary? Nope
Did it fill in any missing pieces? Also no
This is the day of the wedding. There is a little twist, but overall, this one left me feeling like it was nothing more than a cash grab.

This story hooked me in the beginning, I found the middle a bit longer, and for the ending, I was hooked on how it would end.
I was having a hard time deciding how to rate this one. It took me longer to finish than normal for me, but I think that it's because it is so thought-provoking. I found myself putting it down every other chapter, thinking, "What would I do?"
I loved the multiple POVs and how the stories intertwined.
It feels like a 3 ⭐️ but I've brought this book up in conversation more than once, and for that reason I've upped the rating to 4 ⭐️

Solid ending to the series. Emilia and Wrath are witty and full of banter. So many questions answered and mysteries solved.
This series was so carefully crafted, and it just kept getting better and better.
The first in the series read more YA but gets spicier as the story continues. With the introduction of Wraths brothers, everyone goes from enemies to friends and friends to enemies as secrets are revealed, memories restored, and sides are taken. One loose ends left to your imagination but I can live with that.

It's fun, and I enjoyed it. It has the potential to be a great series. I will continue this series to see where it goes.
The main character Lor is somehow both a strong female lead and a whiny brat who thinks she deserves to know everything immediately. I went back and forth from liking to not liking her throughout the book.
Elements of mystery but foreshadowing is strong so no plot twist, in my opinion.
The Bachelor meets The Hunger Games meets Big Brother.
