I have received an eARC from NetGalley and this is my honest review.

This is a powerful story of power within a woman...

Before reading this book you should check for TW. This book deals with a topic that is, unfortunately, an ongoing problem in society.

If you are new to werewolf stories this is a perfect book to start with. The whole story has a great pace, a little bit on the slower side which is perfect to get to learn a lot about the werewolf world. Every character has a strong personality with so much depth and halfway through the story, you are not here for the book you are here to stay for the characters...

Charlie, the MFC, is one strong character and her only mistake is that she believed in love blindly. When the problem goes to the no-returning point, she finally opened her eyes. Every thought, every trauma that was holding her back, she set as a marked point that needed to be crossed and there is no turning back.
It started strong from the first chapter, you could just feel her pain and the hurt, the dilemma of whether what you are doing is the right thing, whether you are wrong, the lack of confidence that someone else brought up on you and is just killing your judgment.

Her journey to a better life starts with one good friend, some money, a car, an open road to Alaska, and an idea of being free and her own again.
What she found there was not something she expected but in the end, what she needed found her.

The exciting world of werewolves, vampires, and witches is so well written and immersed in the world that is surrounding us, so be aware of who will you meet next :)

What is also an amazing fact is that this book was started at wattpad :)

I actually enjoyed reading this one but it was just overhyped for me...
The other thing is that I read a translated version, and I really believe that the translation hurt the book.

Oh, Dante…

From the first chapter, I just jumped into the story and was there for all of it, all the way to the end.

And the end….oh, the end. All I can say is that I was lucky enough that I read it now when the next book is coming out in a few days :) Yeey!

In this world, magic is all present and it lets us see the intricate world of witches and taltos enriched with the magic that is the core of their livelihood.. Hungarian history is so wonderfully woven into the story and you also get to learn the history of your earthly neighbor. We need a lot more books that will be inspired by traditional folklore. On top of that, there is a mystery that needs to be solved, and a big one. So if you are looking for an action-packed story, a mystery to be solved, with strong and independent lead characters with love on the horizon, this is a book you should read.

Kitarni is such an amazing character, strongly determined, and fierce in any given situation no matter the cost… There is a chapter at the beginning that really describes Kitarni and their life in the coven, which I greatly appreciate and it helps you set an image of the character and her position and attitude towards the world.

Then there is Dante, taltos with all of his powers and his golden-ringed irises, with a look to kill :)

I like the first introduction of the Kitarni and Dante, the powers were out in the open, the tension of death closing on them is only bringing closeness in the future encounters, and there certainly was not a lady in distress that couldn't take care of herself :) and somebody (cough Dante, :)) thought it was hot :)

These are real enemies to lovers and you can feel the energy between them from the start but not in a way that overpowers the world-building and the political system of the world. Great writing is making it all possible.

1.5 🌶️

I have one regret regarding this book.
Why haven't I read this sooner?

I follow Kaven`s TT and her sense of humor is what brought me to reading her book.
Right from the start I am loving it! The banter of the group is so mesmerizing. You love the characters instantly. How much fun it is to read about their adventures?! The banter is so unique and you wish that you are with them in the most dangerous and tormenting situations, cause... They are having fun!

Torren, oh you got to love this guy, a rock of a man with the biggest heart.
Lorna, just from the description itself, is so cute with an all-time frown. How adorable, but at the same time how dangerous and deceiving that she is cute, because... she is not :)
Lin, let's not forget about him...He may be the shortest but his voice of consciousness is pretty loud :)
Braizen and Idalia, are just perfect. And they are not allowed to touch...oh it brings the tension to a whole other level.

Let me say it, not the characters, this book has its own personality. I didn't expect anything less from Kaven and she did not disappoint.

With each chapter, you are more and more in love with the characters. As for the plot it holds its grounds and the logic is spot on. The world-building is slow with its own pace and is introduced with a tempo easy to read.
I adore the writing, the storytelling is amazing and it captures you pulling you directly to their world and not wanting to leave. Such vivid and clear descriptions are so refreshing.

And what I like most about this book... They talk....no miscommunication whatsoever

Just in the first quarter of the book I knew that I would hate it when I finished it. That's how amazing it was!

And omg! The ending… It was amazing. It got me worried for a second but it's fine, everything is fine. I mean, it is not, by everything will be... right?
I need the next book, like yesterday!

I can officially say that I am on a quest that whatever Kaven writes, I will read.

4.5 ⭐

How I would love to give this book a 5-star rating....
but by the end of the book the love triangle just couldn't pull it through for me. I am not much of a fan of the mentioned trope in the story. This was written so emotionally and supported by the traditions and the logic of their world, but....ugh... it annoyed me by the end... that's my personal opinion. I don't mind switching off the love interest for a good reason, but it felt as if teenagers were struggling for her attention in some scenes. What troubles me the most is keeping the trope alive for the next book.

Nevertheless, that didn't stop amazing from how beautifully this book is written. It captures your attention right from the first chapter, every part of the story is so interesting and rich with emotions and character development. The world-building isn't aggressive; it slowly builds up and pulls you in. As you learn about the characters you get to know each of their worlds and the world they are creating together. You could feel the hurt and the pain that only true love can bring you and with that, learn and grow from that point on, to heal, and to learn to love again.

Somewhere in the middle of the book, the author lost my interest for a bit, (the most annoying part of the trope) but with chapter 26 the story picked up its pace. It was action-packed, FMC just couldn't catch a breath. It was one monster after another, not stopping for a second, and her being a badass, she killed them all and it was amazing to read.

Now...to the next book

The perfect word to describe this book is CHILLS. The amount of them that I got reading this was beyond what I was expecting.

I have to be honest, I rarely read the blurbs, they tend to spoil things and when I started reading (listening) and when I stumbled on the pregnancy trope I was annoyed in an instant, but, the beautiful writing and the sensible storyline made me stick to the story and give it a chance. And it was great! This is a perfect example of how to handle a "Pregnancy" trope.

I like how direct this book is. Raw emotions are so strongly presented, and the characters are lovable and charming. We have two adults who are trying to resolve a problem that they are in the middle of. You feel their connection. You feel how much they want to find a way for things to work. I know, for someone who wants drama, this sounds boring, but there is still a good plot that keeps you invested in the story. This book is written as pure emotion. Every word, every look, and touch is emotion itself. You can feel their struggles, their lust, love, pain...the support that they have for each other but at the same time they are against the world... and the good thing is... when they stand against the world together.

Logan has such a big heart with enough room for both of them and it is amazing to feel his energy that is radiant and heartwarming.
Thea, a strong mom, a great fighter who finally wound the missing piece of her heart.
Charlie is such a sweet energy that they both deserve...

This is the first book I read from Devney Perry and I was pleasantly surprised. The author got my trust with her writing style and it was a perfect read to relax and enjoy (and sobbed in some parts :)). I will certainly continue reading this series.

I received an eARC from Net Galley and this is my honest opinion.

The best way to describe this book is a retelling of a classic late `90s/early `00 high school/college movie. It has it all, the student atmosphere, the mean girl, the guy who falls for her, the forced proximity, and a little bit of drama. If you are feeling nostalgic and old college movies from 90 and 00 would pick you up, then this is a book for you.
It was so cute and easy to read.

So, in short, there a lot of tropes and cliches that were managed nicely. The writing is ok, it is easy to read. The story was not strictly based on the two main characters and we do get to see a lot of side characters that participate in some of the decision-making and actions throughout the book.

Sophie and Drew have a nice connection from the start and I like the casualness that they have from the beginning.
Drew's character, is someone for whom there is not a problem he won't tackle.
Their dialog is cute and the support and respect that Drew shows towards her are so heartwarming.

It ends on a cliffhanger so be prepared to need the next book!

This book had a lot of running :) This is an action-packed story that is not giving you a minute to feel safe. As soon as you think they can stop and breathe, you are in the wrong, cause it is time for more action.

I had a big break between reading the previous book and getting into this one. I forgot what it was that got me wanting to read more, but I was reminded right away in the first chapter. The interesting way of writing is just the right spot to end the chapter and keeps you invested in the story, to want to know about the characters more. Well done Mila 😀
Especially, I like the scenes that are filled with action, with the tension of what is happening and how real it feels while reading it.

The romance part was kinda on the side and we only see some swift thoughts and brief interactions and not much depth to the relationships.
Each of the princes gets its part in getting to know him, I'm just a little worried that there is not much of a difference between the princes. They do have a different kind of start with Guen but by the end, they feel like the same guy.

The plot is really interesting and I will surely be checking the next book.
