How I would love to give this book a 5-star rating.... but by the end of the book the love triangle just couldn't pull it through for me. I am not much of a fan of the mentioned trope in the story. This was written so emotionally and supported by the traditions and the logic of their world, but....ugh... it annoyed me by the end... that's my personal opinion. I don't mind switching off the love interest for a good reason, but it felt as if teenagers were struggling for her attention in some scenes. What troubles me the most is keeping the trope alive for the next book.
Nevertheless, that didn't stop amazing from how beautifully this book is written. It captures your attention right from the first chapter, every part of the story is so interesting and rich with emotions and character development. The world-building isn't aggressive; it slowly builds up and pulls you in. As you learn about the characters you get to know each of their worlds and the world they are creating together. You could feel the hurt and the pain that only true love can bring you and with that, learn and grow from that point on, to heal, and to learn to love again.
Somewhere in the middle of the book, the author lost my interest for a bit, (the most annoying part of the trope) but with chapter 26 the story picked up its pace. It was action-packed, FMC just couldn't catch a breath. It was one monster after another, not stopping for a second, and her being a badass, she killed them all and it was amazing to read.
