as a horror lover and bug guy, i was hyped up for this!
here’s what immediately lost me:

i was struggling with the pacing and then it was overdue at the library:( but i would like to revisit eventually 

i just don’t like mysteries, i think?
to no fault but my own, i had wildly different expectations going in and felt continually underwhelmed. 
the only other thing i’ll say is that i found it hard to care about the central mystery and the characters involved in it. 
it felt like, you know when a friend you really like is trying to tell you a story about something crazy that happened to someone they know, and because you like this friend you want to give them the respect of listening as diligently as possible but you’re just sooo lost? except i walked away halfway through. sorry claudia!!! no hard feelings girl 

another book i really anticipated loving but it just wasn’t holding my attention :/ i think the POVs changed too quickly for me and i wasn’t feeling invested in any character aside from lin - but even then i just wasn’t interested enough to keep reading. 
kind of disappointed but i won’t put all the blame on the book because i HAVE lacked a lot of patience this year 

this is painful because i want to love this book but i am so incredibly uninterested in the MCs. i’ll probably give it some time and try again but for now i couldn’t even get to 100 pages 😭 

i might go back to this but atm could not get into it at all 

i wanted to like this so much!!! but ultimately i hit a point toward the end where i found myself just not caring about the characters or their relationships anymore.
