Really disappointed with this one. I was sucked in by a pretty cover and the promise of mystery and secrets, but the entire story is flat and rather dull. I found it too predictable, and was left wanting more. I didn't warm to any of the characters. Overall, it just wasn't for me.

There's both too much and too little going on for me in this one. The overall story is a bloodthirsty influencer competition, seeing how far people would go for fame and followers, but within this there are three plots - a woman searching for her brother, a man searching for the truth about his father, and a mysterious cult marked with IXXI. There's also a romance subplot which I didn't invest in. It's a lot for 200 pages, and I felt it all fell a little thin.

I enjoyed the writing style - set up as a series of podcast style interviews. It's fast paced, and easy to read. It just lacks the punch I wanted in a mystery thriller.

The story centers around two lifelong best friends - Ash and Edi. Edi has terminal cancer, and is spending her final days in a hospice close to Ash. I still can't quite grasp choosing to leave your husband and child behind to move to a hospice miles away, closer to your best friend, but each to their own. It's a emotional story of death and bereavement, but I didn't warm to Ash, which made this a difficult read.

I really struggled to get through this one. The writing style varies, and I found some parts really difficult to follow. The story is sad and long and rather dull for my taste. I read the first half quite quickly, but found it a struggle to persevere to the end. It's focused on two main characters, neither of which I warmed to. It's just not my cup of tea.

I loved this book. I wasn't sure what to expect going in, but I was hooked pretty much start away. It was both heartbreaking and funny. I really enjoyed the writing style, and am keen to read more of Dawn O’Porter’s novels. I'll never look at marshmallows the same way.

The story is told by two characters, Olivia (Asher's mother) and Lily (who is new to town and becomes Asher's girlfriend). I found it a little hard to follow in places. The chapters are dated, but within each chapter there are jumps to previous events. It was fine overall, just not quite smooth throughout.

The story was captivating, but I really didn't enjoy the final reveal of what happened to Lily. It felt rather rushed and shoehorned in. It was also a little repetitive in places, so felt a little too long - detail for the sake of detail rather than adding real value.

This was a fun read - quick and easy. A little repetitive at times, but overall enjoyable. Who doesn't love a tale of a pirate princess out on a dangerous adventure.

The concept of this book really drew me in - "transferring adults’ consciousness into a clone of their childhood selves". It's told from two points of view - one of the camp counselors and one of the campers. I really struggled to get through this one. I expected a lot more drama, but it took quite a while for anything to really happen, and even then it fell a little flat for me.

I didn't realize going in that this was a story of the search for a book on sex magic. It's listed as horror, but it's not. It's an erotic thriller.

I didn't find it particularly easy to read - it's a little too repetitive, and I didn't warm to any of the characters. I persevered through as a wanted to see how it all turned out in the end, but it really wasn't my cup of tea. I found the ending rather disappointing.
