I read the first 3 books in the 'Hades and Persephone' series in 2022 and they were easy to eat up and read. I have always been a lover of greek mythology, and after reading dark romance that is based on greek myths I need more!! I cannot wait to read book 2 in the 'Hades' saga.

Quotes:
- “How do you feel when you look at her?" "Like I was born from chaos.”
- “This was Persephone, the goddess who would be his queen, and she was everything.”
- “You must not assume you know her mind just because you have fears. Those are your demons, Hades.”
- “This was Aphrodite in her true form. The mortal world believed she was nothing more than a sexual being, that she sought entertainment and pleasure from gods and mortals alike, but the truth was she could be a vengeful god, especially toward those who betrayed love.”
- “Take her, and I will destroy this world. Take her, and I will destroy you. Take her, and I will end us all.”

Tropes:
- Age Gap
- Forbidden Love
- Enemies to Lovers
- Myth Retelling

I am not a fan of 'The Inheritance Games' series by the same author however this book was so good. I never really read YA books or mystery/thriller books, but this was really easy to follow and understand. I am not sure when I am gonna read book 2 in this series, however I do want to read it this year hopefully. I definitely recommend this book to anyone who doesn't read/rarely reads mystery and thriller books.

Quotes:
- “You feel stupid. Doesn't mean you are.”
- “I’m just saying that statistically, a psychopath is more likely to end up as a CEO than a serial killer.”
- “It was a game to the UNSUB. I was the prize. And if we weren’t careful, Michael and Dean were going to kill each other.”
- “You’ll always be wrong about something. You’ll always miss something. What if the UNSUB is older than you thought? What if he is a she?”
- “I was everyone’s problem and nobody’s.”
- “If looks could kill, Lia would have been dead on the floor, and I would have been on trial for murder.”

I gave this book 3.25 stars, it was a meh book. It got sooo much hype and idk how, nothing about this book was cozy and it took sooo long to get into. I adore fantasy but this did nothing for me. Idk if I will continue the series because I was not a fan of this.

Quotes:
  • “If anyone were to claim greater happiness in their careers than I do in poking about sunlit wildwoods for faerie footprints, I should not believe it.”
  • “How was it that I suddenly had faerie kings, plural, demanding to marry me?”
  • “...books became my best friends.”
  • “if something is impossible, you cannot be terrible at it”
  • “If you do not admit kindness from others, you cannot be surprised when they fail to offer any.”
  • “I suppose most children fall in love with faeries at some point, but my fascination was never about magic or the granting of wishes. The Folk were of another world, with its own rules and customs–and to a child who always felt ill-suited to her own world, the lure was irresistible.”

I dnf'ed this book in November 2023 as it bored me to death and I despise the cheating trope. I picked the book back up this month and it was a meh book. I did not like the constant arguments and constant cheating by BJ which very clearly upset Magnolia. I gave this book 3.25 stars, and I do own books 1 to 4 in the universe/series so I will be continuing the series, especially since I have heard amazing things about the Daisy Haites books.

Quotes:
  • “Painful things can still be beautiful things, in case you didn’t know.”
  • “Because she can only hate me how she hates me because she loves me how she loves me.”
  • “Everything wonderful, everything magical, everything painful, everything beautiful and spectacular and wretched and defining that has happened to me happened with him. And I hate him for that.”
  • “He’s a time bomb for me, do you see now? That he’ll hurt me. He’ll always hurt me. I’ll never be safe with him, even if I’m always safe next to him.”
  • “maybe this is how we’ll always be—stuck together, drifting back to each other if we somehow pull apart. I hope that’s what we’ll be like. I hope we’ll always find our way back.”
  • “Because if she loved herself more than she loves me, she’d have fucked off years ago. I don’t deserve all the chances she half-tries to give me.”
  • “How's the weather over there Parks?”
  • “What am I to you?” I lean back into him, pursing my mouth at the question. “The oxygen mask”—I glance back at him—“that falls down from the ceiling of the planes.” “Marsaili used to say something about how love can go sour like milk and then it turns to hate. Maybe we left our love out.”
  • “What?” Henry shrugs. “Like, it’s ironic. Because BJ went home with the Anti-Parks, and Parks went home with the BJ deluxe.”

I got this book during a 'Stuff Your Kindle Day' in 2023, and I did not know when I would be getting to it however I chose to put it on my March TBR and I am so glad I did as it was so good. I gave this book 4.25 stars and it was such a fun read, I loved the dragons aspect and the quarter aspect of where everyone lives (such as the stone quarter). I highly recommend this book and I cannot wait to read book 2 in this, and to see who the FMC ends up with! <3

Quotes:
  • “I hope my son eats you,” she viciously spat at me as I passed her, before turning on her heel and stalking off down the hallway. “Which one?” I shot back, unable to help myself.
  • “I've lived in the mud quarter my entire life, watching as the fireguards came every five years to select the prettiest girls to go to the Seat to start new lives and get it all: husbands, houses without a speck of dirt, and enough food that hunger wasn't a constant pain in your belly.”

I received this book as an ARC from the author after reading book 1 of the series in 2023, and I thoroughly enjoyed both books in the series. I loved the character development in this book and I LOVED how we got multiple povs from different characters!! I highly recommend this author and the books they have wrote as they are sooo good!!

After reading the first book in this series in 2023 and not liking it, I was hoping this book would be better but alas, I was wrong. I gave this book 2.75 stars which is what I gave 'Trick Shot'. The book did not have much plot nor character development which made the book boring, but I was not a fan of this book. If you like poly relationships then this book might be good for you, but I am not a huge fan of this trope.

After reading 'A Million Kisses In Your Lifetime', I was nervous to read the rest of the series because that book was weird (especially the blow pop scene...), but this book was quite good. I loved West and Carolina, and I loved how they had hobbies they both appreciated such as Carolina being a dancer. I cannot wait to read the other books in the series, especially since it's an interconnected series and interconnected family!

I read the first book in this series in August 2023 on my holiday/vacation (it was 1 of 24 books I read that month), and I loved the first book and I loved this one too. I loved how it was a Orpheus and Eurydice inspired romance but in a dark-ish and modern retelling. I loved the FMC and MMC in this book, and I loved their interactions. I definitely recommend this series if your new to dark romance as it is more 'light' dark romance!

Quotes:
  • “You have scars, but they don’t have you.” I’m not sure if either of us is breathing anymore. “And you, Riley fucking Kelly, are beautiful in a way that’d make the constellations weep.”
  • “The only thing I mourned was that I didn’t light the match.”
  • “all logical thought seems to cease when I’m around him. That feels like a red flag, but with rose-tinted glasses, I find it difficult to care.”
  • “At least when you’re on fire, you know you’re alive.”
  • “How do you know she has a latex allergy?” Caleb asks, and I want to pinch my eyes closed, because even I anticipate what’s about to come out of Aiden’s mouth. The rock star grins. “How do you think I know?”
  • “I happen to like that my home has a heartbeat”
  • “I’m not happy I’m alive. I’m not proud of my trauma, or the person it made me. It hurts, and I hate it.”
  • “Clasping his hands together, Kal nods once, then pushes to his feet. “Okay, then. Let’s kill Riley Kelly.”
  • “So, for three years, I’ve been looking. I’ve spent an ungodly amount of money and time, and neglected the contract with my label, in favor of scouring the earth for her. Part of me still can’t believe I finally did.”

As a lover of English and British history, this book was so good and so informative to read, and I loved learning about Margaret Beaufort/Tudor as I didn't know much about her. It was such an easy read despite it being about a true historical romance/romances.
Quotes:
  • “I am old enough to be married twice. I am old enough to be bedded without tenderness or consideration. I am old enough to face death in the confinement room and be told that my own mother--my own mother--has commanded them to save the child and not me! I think I am a woman now. I have a babe in arms, and I have been married and widowed and now bethrothed again.
  • “Another husband, another new house, another new country, but I never belong anywhere and I never own anything in my own right.”
  • “If this is the will of God, it takes a strange and terrible shape. I did not know that the God of Battles was vile like this. I never knew that a saint could summon torment like this.”
  • “I am sure your piety does you great credit, Margaret. But certainly, if God is speaking to the king, then He has not chosen the best time for this conversation.”
