Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for sending me this arc! I was desperate to read Chrysantha’s story after reading the first book in this duet, and it did not disappoint. I loved the plot of this book, the character development and the whole premise of the book. The FMC was so strong willed and so determined to get what she deserved, and I love how she didn’t want to live up to the expectations of society and her sister. I highly recommend this book if you want an easy fantasy with a strong FMC!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for this arc! I gave this book 4.25 stars as it was amazing! I loved the plot, the characters and the world building. The FMC was just pure sass and awesomeness, and I loved seeing her grow as the book went on and I loved her interactions with other characters. The ending had me SHOOK as I did not expect it at all, but it was soooo good and I need book 2 rn. I need book 2 as we cannot have a cliffhanger like the one we had here, please send me the arc of book 2🙏🙏🙏🙏

This book was one that I have heard mixed opinions about but it was really good. I loved how we got past and current moments within the book, and how certain parts of this book related to the FMC's past and trauma. I was not expecting the ending or the plot twists that kept happening. I defintely recommend this one as it was better than 'The Housemaid' which lacked a good ending.
Quotes:
- “A mental health diagnosis is not a death sentence. All the patients in this unit are just trying to get better.”
- “It might be over. But I definitely have not won.”
- “Are you still…” Jade drops her voice a notch. “Seeing things?” I stare at her. “No.” “Because you used to sometimes—” “No, I didn’t.”
- “My eyes dart between the labels and come to rest on the chart of the patient in 905. The one with the blue eyes flecked with yellow. My whole body turns cold when I see the name written on the chart: CARPENTER Oh no.”
- “But that’s not the real reason I am dreading my night on Ward D. I can’t tell Dr. Sleepy the real reason I was tossing and turning last night. I can’t tell anyone the real reason I’m desperately terrified of Ward D.”
- “Five minutes ago, I trusted Will. I trusted him, even though I hardly knew him. And now I realize he has tricked me. All along, he had me just where he wanted me.”
- “After all, if you meet someone who is truly crazy, that’s the only way to know that you’re sane.”

Thank you to LoveNotes PR for this arc! It was my first book by this author and it was AMAZING, which is why I gave it 4.75 stars. This book has amazing writing, amazing characters and character development, and an amazing storyline. It had some of my favourite tropes which made it even more enjoyable. I loved how me the FMC shared a hobby, and how she used it as a coping mechanism after what happened in her life. I loved the MMC and how he did everything to protect the FMC in her everyday life. I am definitely buying a paperback copy to reread and annotate as I need to highlight my fav moments! I highly recommend this book to everyone, especially if you like ‘touch her and die’ mmc’s.

I liked this book more the second time round as I did not do the tandem read this time. Yrene is amazing and I loved watching her grow as a character as this book went on. Chaol still annoys me and I still don't like him. I loved Nesryn's POV and how she grew and changed as the book went on. Not Still my least fav book in the series, but it does get a low 4 star rating from me.
Quotes:
- “A gift. A gift from a queen who had seen another woman in hell and thought to reach back a hand. With no thought of it ever being returned. A moment of kindness, a tug on a thread.”
- “Aelin frightens everyone…But not him. I think that’s why she fell in love with him, against her best intentions. Rowan beheld all Aelin was and is, and he was not afraid”
- “Using the chair is not a punishment. It is not a prison,' he said softly. 'It never was. And I am as much of a man in that chair, or with that cane, as I am standing on my feet.' He brushed away the tear that slipped down her cheek. 'I wanted to heal you,' she breathed. 'You did,' he said, smiling. 'Yrene, in every way that truly matters . . . You did.' Chaol wiped away the other tears that fell, brushing a kiss to her hot cheek.”
- “Here, with her, he was home.”
- “Sartaq chuckled. “I did. But I also told him that the woman I love now plans to head into war. And I intend to follow her.”
- “Then it is a good thing, Yrene Towers, that I love you as well.”
- “I think she was a god... I never learned her name. She only left a note with two lines. "For wherever you need to go - and then some. The world needs more healers." - Yrene, about Aelin”
- “Nesryn Sobbed, tugging and tugging. Sartaq smiled at her ــ gently. Sweetly. In a way she had not yet seen. "I Loved you before I ever set eyes on you," he said. "Please," Nesryn wept. Sartaq's hand tightened on hers. "I wish we'd had time." A Hiss behind him, a rising bulk of shining black ــ Then the prince was gone. Ripped from her hands. As if he had never been.”
- “Nesryn supposed that was why she liked the queen: there were plans so long in the making that for someone who let the world deem her unchecked and brash, Aelin showed a great deal of restraint in keeping it all hidden.”
- “She would have an adventure. For herself. This one time. She would see her homeland, and smell it and breathe it in. See it from high above, see it racing as fast as the wind. She owed herself that much.”
- “- Good luck to anyone who tries to go after Rowan Whitethorn. - Because Aelin will burn them to ash? - Because Rowan Whitethorn will always be the person who walks away from that encounter. Not the assailant.”

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this arc! I loved the premise of this book which is why I gave it 3.75 stars. The book did start off a bit slow, but around the 25% mark is when it started to pick up more and when I began to get really into the book. I loved the character development in this book, and I loved how we got moments/thoughts that showed the MC's past together which was really good. I loved the plot of this book and how it forced the MC's to work together despite their past. I do want to re-read this book at a later point to annotate it so I will be placing an order for it soon!

After reading the first book in the series, I was nervous to read this but I LOVED this book so much which is why I gave it 4.5 stars. I loved how the FMC communicated with the MMC and the MMC's son. They had such an amazing relationship, and I loved how the MMC's son adored the FMC and always wanted her around. I haven't read the nanny trope much but it is one of my newly loved tropes, and I need more books with this trope. This book was on the longer side but it was sooo worth it, and I ate it up. I highly recommend this book to people who like a slow burn romance, and even if you didn't like book 1 you will love this as this book was sooo much better.
Quotes:
- “To those who see themselves as broken. I hope you find someone who admires your scars for what they are: A sign of your struggle and a testament to your strength.”
- “The one does exist, but not in the way you thought I meant, like some soulmate or something cosmic. To me, the one is someone willing to do everything in their power to be the person you deserve, not because they are fated to love you but because they choose to.”
- “Mi estrella.” 2 My heart bursts at the term of endearment.”
- “Don’t let your fear of the past stop you from the future you want.”
- “One day, I’ll marry this man, and no one will stop me. Not even him.”
- “Kissing him feels so damn right that I fear everyone else will always feel wrong.”
- “I wasn’t solid, but I won’t make that mistake again. I’m going to figure out who I am and what I want in life, so the next time Ellie gives me a chance—and she will—I won’t throw it away. I’ll make sure of it.”
- “Yesterday, Julian called me crazy when I told him I had decided to fly to London after all, but I corrected him and said, “No. I’m in love.”
- “I can’t believe I never noticed her back then, but then again, I’m glad I didn’t because I wasn’t in the place to appreciate someone as special as her. Life brought us together when we needed each other most, and for that, I’ll always be grateful.”
- “I found the brightest star to guide me out of the dark.”
- “It was always you.”
- “You may see a broken masterpiece but I only see you”

I have loved every book in this series so far and this book was no different. I loved learning more about Elizabeth Woodville, her lifestory and her family. I loved learning about how she ruled as queen during the War of the Roses and how she raised her children during that time. I also loved learning more about the princes in the tower (her sons), how she dealt with the situation and how she tried to save them from the Tower of London. I highly recommend this series and book to people who want to learn more about key figures from the War of the Roses and about their general lifestory.
Quotes:
- “He promised her that he would give her everything, everything she wanted, as men in love always do. And she trusted him despite herself, as women in love always do.”
- “The sons of York will destroy each other, one brother destroying another, uncles devouring nephews, fathers beheading sons. They are a house which has to have blood, and they will shed their own if they have no other enemy.”
- “To save my son, I would plot with the devil himself.”
- “I am not a yard of ribbon. I am not a leg of ham. I am not for sale to anyone.”
- “We have to be more royal than royalty itself or nobody will believe us.”
- “It’s a fool who is afraid of nothing,” I say. “And a brave man is one who knows fear and rides out and faces it.”
- “He may make me feel like a fool, and like a woman who can do nothing, but what I can do I will. In my jewellery box is a dark locket of black tarnished silver and inside it locked in the darkness, I have his name: Richard Neville and that of George, Duke of Clarence, written in my blood on a piece of paper from the corner of my father's last letter. These are my enemies, I have cursed them. I will see them dead at my feet.”
- “I won't forgive this wrong done to me and my house, whoever it was that killed my boys, I shall put a curse on their house that they will have no first born son to inherit. Whoever took my son will lose his son. He will spend his life longing for an heir. He will bury his first born and long for him, for I cannot even bury mine.”
- “I am a woman who makes things happen, and I am not defeated yet. I am not defeated by a boy with a newly won crown, and no man will ever walk away from me certain that he won't walk back.”
- “Ah, my dear, you are a good wife. You are my beauty. You are my only love.”

Thank you to the publisher and netgalley for this arc! As a lover of greek mythology, I have no looked into Demeter or Persephone’s lives and what happened to them which is why I’m so grateful to have received this arc. I ended up giving this book 4.25 stars as the further I read on the further I understood the actions of the 2 goddesses and why they acted like they do in mythology! The character development was amazing, and the events of the book were super easy to understand (especially if you haven’t read greek mythology before!)

What the hell was this book? I gave this book 2.75 stars for many reasons and I am not listing them all as we will be here till the end of time. I hated how the MMC constantly talked about the FMC in sexual ways, and it was really clear to me that he only liked her for sex. This book dragged on too much as no romance needs doesn't need to be over 400 pages at the most, I just kept getting bored of this book the more I read of it. I have heard the other books are better so I do want to read them, but I would never suggest this book as it was the worst thing I have ever read.
