I love the story of Hades and Persephone so I was very excited to read this book! The story itself was fun and creative and I enjoyed the modern feel.
I really enjoyed the first half of this book and also the tension between Hades and Persephone before their actual relationship began. I do read spice and enjoy it but I kinda went into this audiobook blind and I don’t think I enjoy listening to spice read out loud which is why my rating is low. At first it was fine, but at some point in the book it’s like every chapter and i had to force myself to get though it; not to mention the person doing the reading would read the scenes in a breathy moaning manner which made me uncomfortable lol (even if it was realistic no thank you). Other than that, good story and can’t wait for more.

The concept was good but i felt bored during some parts. I also think the random sexual aspects were a bit much and would’ve given a higher rating if they weren’t included. I will say the audiobook version was very good, this reader has such a creepy eery voice that really adds to the story. I didn’t care for the ending but the writing was well done.

I really enjoyed this book and can’t say I was surprised by how it ended but there were certainly a lot of surprising additions to the story.
I cannot believe how awful Will is, this guy convinced himself he was a good person despite murdering a young boy, posting revenge porn and ruining a girls life to the point of suicide, and then sleeping with his to be wife’s younger sister (BY 15 YEARS) and still marrying her???? His brain scares me, and i actually giggled when he died. I kind of wish he had gotten a confrontation from Hannah but all’s well that ends well. Also kinda feel bad for Johnno even though he helped kill the kid too.
I loved the drama of each character and genuinely was interested in every story, even if I disliked certain characters! Good quick read and especially good audiobook.

Wooooow this family is a mess lol. This book was good and I like that it gave more insight into why the parents from the first book are the way that they are. I also think it is interesting that it is in Carrie's POV and she is the one that can see ghosts. I think I enjoyed We Were Liars more but that probably had more to do with the twist/ shock factor. What happened in this book felt more expected, especially because we know how the family lies and also the messed up dynamic they have. Super quick and fun read tho!

What a great finish to this duology! I enjoyed this book more than the first, most likely because of the more adventurous aspects and of course the couple pairings
Elm and Ione! This couple gave me exactly what I had wanted from Elspeth and Ravyn. The perfect amount of tension and build up and happy ending. I also loved the darker/ more violent aspects like Heaths treatment of Elm and Ione and all the fighting aspects. Also, did anyone else feel the potential romance between Jespyr and Petyr orrrrr was that in my head; I though the author would do something there but I guess there's not enough book or need for it lol.
I think this book was written and concluded perfectly and loved the unique concept.

I think the concept of this book was really unique and the writing was so beautiful! I think I would have enjoyed it more if I understood the world they were in a bit more but that's probably my pea brain's fault lol. Either way I enjoyed it and enjoyed the ending not much to say.

Interesting read and good twist at the end but it felt very slow and like it could've been finished sooner than it did; at the same time, the end felt a bit rushed for some reason. I still really enjoyed the different character povs and liked learning more about them each time. Good read though! I want to read more by this author to see if I will enjoy other works more.
I would really like to know more about Ben as well and what he is really like as he is described by Nick as "someone no one really knows" and we know that Jess doesn't know him very well either. I don't think this aspect is very important to the book but I found myself wanting to know more about his motives for things. Like was he just doing his work to find out more about the family and screw them over since he never had what they did? Why did he act the way he did towards Nick's father even after knowing how Nick felt about him and all they shared. I wish we had more time with Ben! It just feels like he doesn't let himself get close to anyone (probably due to trauma) but loves finding out every little detail about others. Also think it's funny how many people fall for Ben without really knowing him, just because he is charming. Lol bit of a rant but oh well!

The concept of this book had me hooked and excited to read more. I think i wanted more in the writing style but i really liked the characters and where the story is going. I probably would’ve rated this book higher if it wasn’t so hyped up, i was expecting a 5 star read!
I also really like the dynamic between Elspeth and Ravyn but was hoping for more slowburn, tension not just them quickly getting together; they are still very cute together tho. I also think that Elspeth giving in at the end of the book wasn’t like her at all, she normally keeps fighting so I was a bit disappointed.
I did enjoy the story tho and am starting the next one right away!

This book was so good! I could guess a couple of the lot turns but others I was shocked. I really loved the vibe and setting of an old mansion with strange occurrences and murder so I had no complaints with this book. Not much else to say.

I really enjoyed this book, and the podcast concept was perfect to listen to in audiobook format. I think thrillers like this are really captivating/ easy to get sucked into, and learning more about what happened through Josie’s telling was crazy. I also liked the tidbits from other characters and finally the ending revealing that everyone’s stories have some lies in them (hence the title of the book). Don’t have much to say! Very interesting read/listen.
