Rereading this as an adult is so nostalgic and enjoyable. Even with the writing being YA the story is still good and fun to read! I love this series and totally forgot how impulsive Percy can be. That boy can’t sit still and is always up to something. I’ll be reading the rest in the series over again too.

I love these light novels but why do they always start soooo slow and then end on a banger. I loved the role reversal where Jinshi can be more casual and I think it’s funny how Basen gets uncomfortable with this. I also loved the whole adventure and Maomao doing Maomao things; she really is the best. I saw mixed reviews on the epilogue and i’m surprised cause it was SO good what! I think a lot is being lost in translation and looking up clarification on what just went down definitely makes it more enjoyable. For people saying it’s out of character for Jinshi to act as he did clearly haven’t been reading the same books I have because that tension has been building. We also know that he was raised as a prince and how possessive he is. That man is down bad for Maomao of course he’s going to break at some point? and she gave him invitation to do so? HELLO. Also I don’t think this scene was supposed to be read as him hurting her in a bad way, I think it was supposed to be giving BDSM but who knows haha. Anyway I enjoyed that steamy ending and the official confirmation that he is Ah-duo’s child even though we already knew that. Some people still argue he isn’t and I don’t understand them. Also sooo excited to see where things go with Lishu and Basen because that pairing seems so cute. I am super excited for the next installment in this series and I really don’t think I can get enough.

This one had me hooked about a quarter in but the start was slow and overall it wasn’t what I was expecting! I thought there would be more fantasy and a lot more on Emmett’s life as a binder but it leaned more towards a romance. This story was sad and frustrating and showed how horrible people could be. The concept behind book bindings is really cool but there are too many loopholes to how it works. For example the idea of they can’t take memories without consent. The way Em had his memories taken did not seem like consent, he was forced into it and forced not to tell Seredith about the men that dragged him to the shop. The same can be said for Nel who technically gave her consent but was more so told what to do by her employer. I also hate that people who know someone’s memories can’t tell them what happened so it’s effects are more permanent if you don’t have your book. I wish there was a little less suffering and a lot more happiness or at the very least more to the ending.

Drinking watching and more drinking. This book was a bit boring but I needed to know what was going to happen. I also didn’t like any of the characters they were annoying. Casey was frustrating in one how long it took her to do something/ realize something and two her tampering with evidence and then making it obvious she was there by not locking the door like come on. I get that she wasn’t ever in the right state of mind but I didn’t like it. I enjoyed the paranormal twist that was freaky and unexpected but I knew something else was going on. I don’t really have much to say other than that.

This book had me screaming! Literally yelling out loud at the characters to TALK. I loved all of these characters and love when an author knows how to develop side characters too. This book almost had me in tears many times too. I love Harriett and Wyn as a couple, flaws and all and have never read a story where the main couple starts off broken up. Soooo frustrating that they continue to love each other and not be together like please just talk so yall can jump each others bones and be happy forever thank you. The friend fight was such a good touch too (‘:/spoiler> I also loved the setting since it felt like home! God this book was so good I may just have to read everything Emily Henry.

This is my first Emily Henry book and it may be my favorite romance book so far! I tend to mainly do romance as an audiobook and this one was perfect for that. I laughed out loud so many times and I adored these characters. My only complaint is that I wish they got together sooner; the back and forth to friends was driving me crazy but I totally got it and in the long run prefer it. There’s just never been a couple I knew needed to be together as much as these two lol. I also loved how real all of the struggles were. I can’t wait to read more by her!

Omg this was sooo much better than I expected. I normally prefer to read my fantasy books rather than listen but this was done well! I definitely want a physical copy tho because I didn’t realize it was a series and i’m so sad I can’t read the next book ASAP. The next book is definitely going to be on my most anticipated reads for next year assuming that’s when it comes out. I loved the magic aspect and monsters in this book and haven’t read anything like it. I also enjoyed how long and slowly things were built up. Also happy for the many plot twists that just kept coming!

Well that escalated quickly! I loved the unraveling of mysteries from the previous novels and connections being made. There are a few things I’m still confused on that I assume will be addressed later but this book was too good to put down. I kept reading well into the morning to finish. I love a good fight too and this book was packed full of stress inducing action. Once Maomao knows who Jinshi is and he comes for her as Ka Zuigetsu he gets BOLD. The last 50 pages of this book had me screaming giggling and kicking my feet; THIS MAN BITES HER NECK AND USES HER LEGS AS A PILLOW HELLO?! I was not prepared but I was very satisfied. Also super happy that Loulan/Shisui is still alive, wonder what or if she’s plotting something else.

Soooo many twists that had me second guessing what I thought. I automatically knew it couldn’t be the dad and that it had to be Daniel or Cooper from the start. Wasn’t expecting the added twist of Aaron/ Tyler tho so that was fun! Kinda messed up that he slept with her and based on the ending i’m guessing she doesn’t get back with Daniel. It’s unclear if this is because she suspected him, she told him about Tyler or too much happened but they also left it to seem like he just needed space? Whatever not important! . The story was good and the information just kept coming. My one complaint is when the main character in a thriller does dumb shit to make the story more interesting and this one definitely has that. The amount of times Chloe should’ve told someone or the police or idk not go looking for clues by herself without a phone? crazy.

Weird group takes out on an adventure to kill an evil prince/ king! This book was fun in concept and has so many weird aspected like a demon hen, blister lands with cannibalism, and bone dogs that come back to life. I enjoyed these weird aspects but the writing felt very YA to me; even with the characters being older. The main character who was 30 acted like a naive girl and i didn’t care for that but overall it was enjoyable.
