The second book did not disappoint. Another fun, quick, satisfying YA read!
I was interested to see where the story would go from where it left off. I thought the setting might have changed a bit, but she did a good job of creating a new story in the same world.
It had a bit of everything....pirates, a dash of magic, a little romance, action/adventure, & fantasy.
If I had to be picky, I did like Fable a little better.

I knew this was a retelling of Beauty and the Beast going into it. With that being said, I had to get past knowing the overall outcome of the story before I could enjoy it.
It took me a little bit to get into it, but I found myself wanting to know how the curse would be broken despite already knowing that it was going to be broken. I enjoyed the modern twist of the story and the little bit of romance that it had.
The characters were well developed and the world was easy to envision if you know the story of Beauty and the Beast.
Overall, it was an easy read and I will add the sequel to my TBR to see where the story goes.

I was never into reading novellas until I wrote my own book. They are the perfect place for another idea the author had for the story that did not quite fit but still wanted to be shared.
This is written in Maxon’s point of view before the selection takes place (a prequel for the series). Even though it has been years since I read The Selection Series, it did not matter. I remembered the characters and the plot easily.
It was a nice insight into what Maxon was feeling before the series begins. Really easy read.

This novella follows Queen Amberly’s (Maxon’s mother) point of view. It gives you a glimpse into her own selection with Maxon’s father and the struggles she faced.
I enjoyed the dark insight into Maxon’s grandparents as well showing that not everything about growing up as royalty is all sunshine and rainbows.
Another quick, fun prequel to The Selection Series.

This novella is from Aspen’s point of view. It retells a few key events that occur in the series. You kind of already get a sense of what Aspen was feeling in the actual books so this is not a surprise.
Not my favorite of the novellas, but still a nice read for those who love The Selection series.

Another well written book by Adrienne Young! This book takes place in the same world as Fable and Namesake, but is not about Fable. It is much slower paced. I liked that we got to see into another character’s life and can’t wait to see what’s next for Adrienne!
