A NYC couple struggling to pay their mortgage get a tenant to help with the bills but she is a nightmare after she moves in.
The main POV is told from a male which is a first from this author. I enjoyed the twists and turns. This one was very predictable for me though. I have read every single one of her books and usually I’m off about something.
Overall solid book, would rank it somewhere in the middle of all of them. Can’t wait for her next one!

ALL THE STARS!!! I couldn’t put this one down. The slow burn romance and the twists and turns were so good! It kind of reminded me a little bit of Bridge Kingdom with the arranged marriage and the mysterious city no one knows anything about but with the added twist of monsters/forest creatures.
This is her first fantasy romance book & I can’t wait for the rest of the series!

Two houseplants, a spider, & and goldfish become unlikely friends.
This was a super cute and sweet book about friendship and helping others with a sprinkle of fantasy/magic. The characters were lively and kept my attention. I liked how some harder vocabulary words were mixed in and explained in a fun way. Kids will love it!

This was not what I thought it was going to be. The first half is mostly a contemporary coming of age with fantasy dreams. There is Vietnamese mythology mixed in and the fantasy part picks up at the end. I wanted more of the fantasy world and less of the high school setting.

It’s goes back and forth between two timelines following the story of 4 woman who are all intertwined with a call to the sea. I liked the mystery of the potential of sirens being real and what they stand for. While the story was predictable, I enjoyed watching it unfold and seeing the sisters bond and grow.

I’ve seen a lot of poor reviews for this one. It’s not awful. It reads more as YA fantasy adventure than an adult fantasy romance. I think it’s a little too long and choppy at times. I got bored in the middle and switched to the audio to finish.
It wasn’t memorable for me but if you enjoy more YA books then give it a try.
