Fast paced, easy to read YA book. It had a little romance, where as the first book did not. The focus is on MJ figuring out how to break the curse and a few different budding relationships. The writing style was very easy to follow and her pacing is always really well done. Cute, HEA conclusion to the series.

Synopsis: A man’s wife disappears while he is on the phone with her. As an author, his writing is suffering from the tragic loss. So he goes to a remote island to get inspiration for his next book and try to move on.
I had mixed thoughts on this one. It is a very slow burn thriller. The first 75% I almost thought it was going to be a magical realism book as it had strange woodsy vibes and I wasn’t sure where it was going.
Once I got to the twist and things started coming together I liked it and thought it was clever. It has been optioned for a movie and think it might translate better on screen.
If you are considering to DNF, stick with it because the ending is good!

Set in a New England boarding school, a student wakes up to find her roommate & her boyfriend murdered in the next room. When the evidence starts pointing towards her, she realizes it the killer has to be someone they know.
This is a fast paced thriller. Think a dark Gossip Girl. The chapters are really short, so you can fly through it. It was a little predictable but I like the way the story unfolded and the drama.
If you have read Jessica’s other books, you will enjoy this one too!
