Genre: Psychological Thriller 

Synopsis: A man’s wife disappears while he is on the phone with her. As an author, his writing is suffering from the tragic loss. So he goes to a remote island to get inspiration for his next book and try to move on. 


I had mixed thoughts on this one. It is a very slow burn thriller. The first 75% I almost thought it was going to be a magical realism book as it had strange woodsy vibes and I wasn’t sure where it was going. 

Once I got to the twist and things started coming together I liked it and thought it was clever. It has been optioned for a movie and think it might translate better on screen. 

If you are considering to DNF, stick with it because the ending is good!
