Well, I read it (eventually). The best I can say about this book is that I can say I've read it. Some of the family parts were okay, but I found it hard to keep the characters straight, and I didn't care enough about any of them that it mattered. The war parts were dull, and Tolstoy's treatise about history in the epilogue was mind-numbing.

Fun and informative graphic novel exploring what being a deaf child in a hearing world really means.

i honestly found this book quite depressing, although it was redeemed with hope at the end. Still great storytelling and characterisation.

Post-apocalyptic novel set in a future that is all to believable. Very violent and raw in places, but that made it all the more real. I appreciated the philosophy/religion running through it that gave a bleak situation an element of hope.

However many times I read this book (this might be the tenth time), I will always love it. The audio version with Derek Jacobi is wonderful.

Wonderful. Science fiction with humanity shining through on every page. I loved that the aliens weren't just humans dressed up differently, and that the science was thought through. (I didn't follow all of it, but that didn't matter!) And a great story of friendship too.

If Tom Hanks wasn't so likeable, you'd have to hate him. Good-looking, a great actor, and it turns out he can write too! Lovely  quirky collection of assorted stories. I appreciated the typewriter cameos in each story. Impossible to read this without hearing the stories in Hanks' voice.

I loved this book. Great characterisation, and the story sucked me in. Has the to-and-fro in time structure I really enjoy. The audio version if really good.
