Ghosts on the Underground lead to Peter Grant and his colleagues investigating a very modern crime. Great characters as usual; a more forgettable storyline than some.

Multiple timelines with stories centred on the same house and piece of land. I liked some better than others, and some felt a bit long. Overall, enthralling and enjoyable, but I was unsure about the ending.

Another diversion from the main Rivers of London story with FBI Agent Kimberley Reynolds taking centre stage. She has her own distinctive voice, and it's good to see this magical universe from a non-magical person's point of view. Great story.

I say I don't read fantasy, but books like this are the reason I make exceptions to that. Great characters that you can get behind, even when they make dubious choices; politics; adventure; perilous journeys; families and chosen families; romance ( a lot of it sapphic) - and dragons! Sweeping dramatic storyline with multiple points of view. Epic in all senses of the word.

An interesting mix of stories from different points in the overall story. Enjoyable, but I didn't enjoy it as much as the longer stories.

Paris and food- what's not to like? Great food descriptions and also an interesting personal story. And recipes - I love a book with recipes, even if I never make them.

thoroughly enjoyable re-read. The heroine was precocious, but not annoying. The story was compelling, and the characters interesting and mostly sympathetic.

Fairly interesting mystery, but the precocious child heroine irritated me. Parts were frankly unbelievable.

Believable and engaging space opera. Great characters, and a lot more gritty and realistic than a lot of sci fi.
