I found that this was a very important read for me. Being German, I never really learned about how Black people were treated in the UK and I think it is important to educate oneself.

I really liked the start of this trilogy, it had a lot of twists and turns and I really loved the fae characters present in the story. It was interesting to see how Jude and her sisters navigate this world and how each one of them wants something different out of it. I am really looking forward to reading the sequel.

I really liked this installment in the series. I liked the connection between the main characters and how they could be themselves around each other. The surrounding family is so nice to read and I cannot wait to see what the other books in the series bring.

I liked the concept and the intent of the novel but I never really connected to the characters and I was not a huge fan of the ending. It was fun to read but I do not think that the story will stick with me.

I really liked the novel but somehow I could not connect to the characters. I am not sure this is because I listened to it on audio or it did just not click for me. I think I will reread it at some point in the future and then continue with the series.

I was not the hugest fan of this book, I liked to get glimpses in what other people viewed as a utopia and how they saw a utopia. I did not really like all the background information and the framework of the novel and that really knocked down my enjoyment of the series.

I really liked this installment in the series and to see them go out of their school and fight with other people. It has so many slow burn romances and I cannot wait to see where they lead.

Damm this installment broke me. It was so impactful and showed so many important topics in such a short span of pages. It was so hopeless but I still want to see what will happen next.

My rating is probably more of 3.5 stars but I am still thinking about the characters nearly a day after finishing the book so I bumped it up to four stars.

When Silver met Gold, tells the story of Muscat Stuart who comes to Pakistan after her mother has passed away. While she comes to terms with life in Pakistan and her mother's passing, she forms a relationship with Aalyian Haider.

I loved the whole cast of characters in this book and how they interacted with each other throughout the novel. The chemistry between Aalyian and Muscat was there from the start and I rooted throughout the whole story for them to get together. I found the side characters added great depth to the story and helped the story along in some capacity.

I liked the aspect of Mucsat learning about Islam and Pakistan history and I learned a lot through that as well even though I felt at some points it was a bit overdone and overshadowed other aspects of the novel.

I sometimes found the novel to be too long as it was over descriptive in some aspects and I sometimes had a problem with the passing. In some instants, the times were also of, as it was like no time had passed but then it was 3 weeks later or the other way around.

Overall I really liked this debut novel and I am looking forward to seeing what Kounj Muzafar will write in the future.

I am not really sure what John Knowles wanted to achieve with this novel. I found it had some very interesting characters involved and it chronicles life in a boarding school quite well. The political climate with the backdrop of World War II is always there but could not really piece the story together with the characters and at times it was quite boring especially because it was so short.
