I enjoyed rereading this short story collection from one of my favorite authors. These stories all have to do with someone who was lost for many years, or moved away and then comes back years later, or some old letter that never arrived and then they find the letter years later. These stories center around reconciliation, long-lost relatives, family belonging, and love that is rekindled.

There is something so wholesome and sweet about Montgomery's stories, and I just love it!

I knew this book would be touching and sad, but I didn't expect for it to upset me to the extent that it did. I identified with Anne more than I thought I would, since our personalities are a little similar- boisterous and cheerful on the outside, but very sensitive and moody inside. What a lot of wisdom and wit in such a young girl! I had nightmares about her while reading it, and cried quite despairingly at the end. So now I'm feeling depressed and ....sort of raw and tender in my heart, like I can barely hold it together inside. Stupid horrid book! Why does it have to be so perfectly good?

Chilling and darkly dramatic; perfectly delicious!

One of my favorite books as a child, and as an adult! You can never re-read this one too many times!

Rather slow in the beginning, but wonderfully dramatic in the middle!

I liked this one much better than the last one in this series. The plot had more structure, and plenty of adventure and intrigue. The main characters were, of course, much better written, well rounded, and interesting.
There is a lot of psychoanalyzing going on with the deep unconscious motivations of Arthur, Guenievere, and Lancelot as they play out their love triangle. Some of it I liked and agreed with; some of it I rolled my eyes.

I found myself really liking and pitying Lancelot. He tried so hard, but circumstances and his own stupidity just made his life so difficult.
I think this might be my favorite book from this series!
