“There was no way an alpha wolf would be mated to a potato. Nope, not in my lifetime was that ever happening. “No, old man, he is not mine.”
The one trope I hate above all others just ruined it for me, I can deal with the potato shifter weirdness. But this book didn’t do it, the writing wasn’t there for me and then surprise pregnancy killed off any enjoyment I would have had.
I was reminded that I don’t love SKs writing. I like description and detail but there’s a point it’s too much. And this is a perfect example of it.

Kira and friends are invited to a dinner party by the last person they’d ever expect. Still unable to remember life before, Kira is starting to string together some answers even though she can’t quite remember.

This is just a good series, Darcy Coates is a pallet cleanser for me. Her ghosts are always refreshing and almost all her stories keep me engaged. This paranormal mystery series is quick and packed full of ghosts.

“Nobody gets through life without being an asshole...Once in a while you're going to dig in over something and get it wrong and make a scratch on the world you'll never polish off. Those scratches will define you more than anything else.”

Nolan Moore, think Indiana Jones meets the X-Files, along with a crew attempt to retrace the steps an early explore took to find a mysterious cavern they claimed to have found high up in the Grand Canyon. But things take nasty turn and they get more than they bargained for once the ball starts rolling.

This book was almost a favourite for me… ALMOST. The plot and story was so fun and really this is the kind of thriller I truly enjoy.
The one issue? The language used in the book for Indigenous people was a little off putting for me.
I could get past the use of “Native Americans” but seriously. RED SKINNED? We can do better, granted it was only mentioned a couple times but it really wasn’t necessary for the plot.

“Don’t use your fucking Alpha town with me. I will gore you with these horns like it’s the War Years, little boy.”
First of all thank you @capes.author for a chance to read this eARC in exchange for my honest review.

The future male Alpha wolf of Velm and a red witch go on an adventure. One searching for answers and the other wanting vengeance.

This book left me floored. But I’ll be completely honest the world building at the beginning threw me, it could be because I’m not a seasoned fantasy reader, I spoke with a fellow bookstagrammer and they told me from past experiences the authors books quickly pick up after the world building and to keep going.
I am SO glad I took their advice, this story has so many layers being peeled back that I am fully committed to this series now.

I want to meet this alien just because of their beautiful description. We have a Bi FMC and a non binary MC. There’s not much I could put into my thoughts without giving away too much of the plot.

“It was nearly four years ago when I was banished from hell and thrown into the mortal world, just because I had caused some unwanted troubles.”
Ever have those books you read and you can give a very brief description but nothing really sticks out? That was this one for me.
We started off heavy smut right away and I was into it, but it fell off for me. It wasn’t before the writing was bad, the book honestly just wasn’t for me. But I do know people who would be all for this one so I’ll be recommending to them.

I can’t even begin to explain how terrible this book is.
The author is a clueless white man who has no idea what they’re talking about.

Valerie works hard to be an obedient and good daughter for her mother. Her mothers obsession with food and being thin starts to take its toll on Valerie and her relationships.
Content warnings: eating disorders, death of a parent

Thank you @NetGalley & First Second Books for this eARC. I was so excited to be approved for this, not just because of the synopsis but the cover is BEAUTIFUL.
This beautifully illustrated graphic novel tells the story of disordered eating and the toll it takes on everything in your life. But most importantly it shows how kids are affected by what their parents say.

"Monsters don't always hide in the dark, some of them walk around in broad daylight happy to be seen by anyone foolish enough to look in their direction."
Her birthday is the only time anyone makes an effort to visit Daisy's grandmother. But on her 80th birthday, when the family is gathered to celebrate, the family starts dying... One by one.
This is my first book by Alice Feeney after people telling me I would enjoy her stories, I'm only mad I waited this long. The story was told in such a way it's the first time I truly did not see anything coming and it just hit me.
