this was a wild ride! the mechanics of the plot were a bit .... convoluted, but it was still a great rollercoaster of action. i loved bree and her insane badassery, but she was also such a great character to see grieve and grow and fail and fight. i didn’t LOVE this book, but i think there’s definite potential for a series here and hopefully the history and terminology will make more sense in the future.

this was kind of a wild ride—i did not expect it to get as crazy as it did, but i’m ok with it. biggest complaint was the lack of character depth, because it felt like the characters were supposed to be super deep but didn’t actually get worked on enough.
