this was ok, but the spice comes out of nowhere and was WAY too intense for me. there was a lot of cringing and scrolling past stuff. interesting characters and a good intro to the universe since there are more of these coming (i liked s&s more than this one) but not everything promised is delivered.
writing was truly unbearable. i did not read the middle section of this and only read the end because i wanted to go to book club :/ waaaayyy too much going on and literally no reason to root for the romance
just not vibing. nothing super special about the writing or characters that makes me want to finish this.

really enjoyed this one. definitely not the easiest thing to read if you have a complicated relationship with your mom, but the exploration of love and family and grief and expectations was so lovely. funny, fierce and heartfelt
moved surprisingly slow for a short story? i honestly did not care about the bank plot. the parts about vero, her past and her relationships with javi/ramon/her mom were way more interesting. i loooove ramon and javi very much and would honestly rather read more about them that finlay's ridic men she's got following her around.

dragged in some parts. i liked the action sequences but there weren’t as many as i was hoping for. not sure how well it balanced the plot with all the social themes

a wild ride !! the flashbacks were cool but kinda got in the way of the building up of the robbery plot. wish the safety deposit box was addressed more since it just felt convenient at the end. the characters were cool!
vibes of the school were pretty fun, but i honestly did not like either of the main couples and skimmed the latter half of this. charlie's coming out was handled really poorly and sage's reasoning for treating nick poorly felt very manufactured to keep them apart until the end. plus side to this one is that it doesn't have the 23485974 taylor swift references of walther's other titles.
